First thing to check is loss of gas pressure due to leaks , this is the most common failure.
if gas is good then could be a number if things , compressor , climate controller unit , bad wiring or connections somewhere.
My ac stop working refill freeon and still nothing
I have a 2000 Pontiac Gram Prix..the air conditioner does not blow cold air
SOURCE: Air conditioner quit working after changing battery?
i had the same problem,to me it was the ac/heat door actuator, this turns a motor for the temperature contol, when its broken it ither stays at just one temperature or flips from hot to cold constantly , if it is this is its not a cheap fix. if you go to the dealer just the actuator costs you about $200 and labor is $800 they will tell you that they need to take the whole dashboard out and thats why it will take 8 hours. what i did was get one from the junkyard for $50 and install it myself, all you have to do is open the glove box and take out a 3-4 screwd weird shaped box (actuator) its a tight space but it posible to take out with out pulling the dash,it saves you $800. it took me about half an hour to change it.
SOURCE: air conditioner quit cooling,
I have a 2007 Kia Sorento EX. I had a similar problem. I checked for leakage in the nozzle. The nozzle was repaired and I refilled gas. This resolved the cooling problem.

Pop the hood, start the vehicle and turn the AC on. Watch the compressor, it should have a center that rotates on an off and you should hear a clicking sound. This is the compressor clutch you are looking at. If the compressor is not doing this, check the fuses for the AC. If the fuses are good, then most likely the high side sensor switch is not working, therefore the clutch never engages and the air never gets cold.
Try that and get back to me, ok?
