First thing to check is loss of gas pressure due to leaks , this is the most common failure.

if gas is good then could be a number if things , compressor , climate controller unit , bad wiring or connections somewhere.

SOURCE: Air conditioner quit working after changing battery?

i had the same problem,to me it was the ac/heat door actuator,this turns a motor for the temperature contol, when its broken it ither stays at just one temperature or flips from hot to cold constantly , if it is this is its not a cheap fix. if you go to the dealer just the actuator costs you about $200 and labor is $800 they will tell you that they need to take the whole dashboard out and thats why it will take 8 hours. what i did was get one from the junkyard for $50 and install it myself,all you have to do is open the glove box and take out a 3-4 screwd weird shaped box (actuator) its a tight space but it posible to take out with out pulling the dash,it saves you $800. it took me about half an hour to change it.

SOURCE: air conditioner quit cooling,

I have a 2007 Kia Sorento EX. I had a similar problem. I checked for leakage in the nozzle. The nozzle was repaired and I refilled gas. This resolved the cooling problem.

SOURCE: AIR CONDITIONER QUIT WORKING

Pop the hood, start the vehicle and turn the AC on. Watch the compressor, it should have a center that rotates on an off and you should hear a clicking sound. This is the compressor clutch you are looking at. If the compressor is not doing this, check the fuses for the AC. If the fuses are good, then most likely the high side sensor switch is not working, therefore the clutch never engages and the air never gets cold.

Try that and get back to me, ok?

Air conditioner will not turn on but defrost comes on with hot air and can not be turned off.

Sounds like your blend door may be stuck or you could have a vacuum leak. If you're not comfortable working on it, take it to a reputable shop.

does the heater work?if not it could be as simple as a fuse. OR the blower motor went bad.If the heater does work it has something to do with the air conditioner.I hope this helps

Air conditioner quit working

If after switch on of the a/c there is no difference in the engine rpm with the solenoid latching up the a/c compressor with the fan working , then you must look for the fuse of the a/c which can be found near the main box inside the bonnet. replace and test. However if the ac works but there is no cooling then you must check for the gas pressure in the visual eye at the gas inlet. If you notice that there is heating in the cooling pipes then your compressor needs to be checked, gas leak in system, gas filling. Hope you check this out. Good day

Air conditioner, fuel gauge, and temp gauge all stopped working at the same time

Three possibilities;
All related to blown fuses,

1- Fuse blown in the engine compartment LH.
2- Fuse blown in the cabin forward LH below the dashboard (below your legs left hand).
3- Fuse blown in the harness (wire bundles) below the dashboard very easy to reach with your hands “just look underneath steering wheel ".

U said " The air conditioner blows, but the air is not cold.
" Yes only the fan working which might receiving power independent all from those other mentioned things.
If all fuses OK. Then look for broken wires.

Regards;
MAR
