Trouble code P0171, P2195 Ford Focus

My check engine light comes on and goes off so when it came on i checked the code and got a P2195 code on my 2005 ford mustang 4.0 liter. Could it be because I use low grade ethanol gas or what?

You obviously know nothing about todays
technology or codes

If had of Googled the code, you would see
it has to do with an Oxygen Sensor

I have a 2005 ford focus 2.o liter. scan lopes at idle and stalls at red lights unless you keep foot on gas.scan tool says p0171 and p2195. changed both o2 sensors and fuel filter. scanner now reads p2195...

clogged fuel injector's ,vacuum leak, low fuel pressure . Do you know how to do an injector balance test , fuel pressure testing with a pressure gauge ?

There is a Service Bulletin #01205 for the 2004 Lincoln Navigator- ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE

2003 Ford Expd. running rough @ idle -

There could be many issues. These codes read your engine is running too lean. Check : all your vacuum hoses for leaks, PCV valve and hose, MAF sensor. This may require an experienced technician to figure this out. Hopefully I help'd!!

Sounds Like your o/2 is bad, are you burning e-8, try adding some injector cleaner/seafoam, and put a tank of preimu gas in then reset the code.

Change fuel filter, add can of SEAFOAM to tank of PREMIUM gas, drive 100 miles; change out fuel filter again. add SEAFOAM 3-5000 miles. this is a common problem with ethanol gas. if your still gttin a code after changing oxy. sensor, the ethanol gas is messing everything up. I'd explain it all; but this is the short of it. coats valves adds water and goop to fuel system,aand messes with everything. try it and see.

Even though your O2 sensor is showing good by your scan, it could be lazy in giving readings. It has less than a 10 second window to give the reading especially if it is a heated O2 sensor. Try a Bosch unit.

To get a proper reading on the O2, you need a larger scan tool to show you a fuel count. There is also in the service manual, a method of using a volt meter to find a reference showing hot and cold.
Need to know if yours is a 3 wire or a 2 wire unit. (By the way, the p2195 code comes up for a o2 sensor stuck in lean position.)
(You may need a CO monitor to verify if you're running rich or lean.)

P0171 System Too Lean (Bank 1)
This is to do with fuel mixture

As for code p2195 i cant find what this code means maybe to do with the same problem

Hi the only way this can be tested is in a garage as they have a big electronic diagnostic machine that they put up the exhaust and connect to the engine and they can then tell what % of gasses are coming out of the exhaust.

The o2 sensor only starts working when the car is upto temperatur but then if your car picks up a fault on this then you will keep getting that code untill it is replaced.

Their is no way of testing the o2 % without spend thousands on equipment
The sensor is not that expensive to replace but i would get the o2% tested before you go ahead with any work as it could just be that if your car has a turbo it could just be that thie is a split in one of these pipes causing the sensor to pick up to muck o2 reading giving you that code.

You need to get this car on a crypton tuning machine i would do this before buying any parts as this would tell you exactly what is wrong and where the problem is likely to be.

As your equipment is giving you the code it doesnt tell you exactly where the problem is it just telly you their is a problem to do with the said item. A diagnostic machine would measure all the gasses coming out of the car and narrow the search area down for you.
