Oh wow. I am gonna assume this is the 3.5l v6 engine. If this is the case, then the alternator is under the engine just above the right side drive axle. If this is that engine , then it must be removed from the bottom of the car. The engine cradle must be lowered to access it.

i found it best to remove radiator first before trying to tackle the alternator... once that is removed then you can easily get to it to unloosen bolt and swap

The GM 1995 Aurora repair manual, says to use the access hole under the
carpet in the back right corner of the trunk. You are best to buy a new fuel sender locking nut or ring at the
dealer for about $8.
Forgot to add this - to relieve the fuel pressure, just use the
press the center of valve on the fuel rail (for pressure testing) and a
rag to catch the dribble. Really no big deal.

Sounds like it would be the starter, but make sure you are using a good pair of jumper cables, and they are making a good connection to each vehicle. Also check to see that your battery terminals are tight.

You may or may not need to replace the battery. To check if it is a drain from one of the systems on your car; unhook the battery overnight and see if it kept the charge till morning. If it is still charged in the morning then it is not the battery.
