Hi, the engine you have brought should fit as most of them will fit even if the cc is different so i wouldnt worry to much about it.

The only thing you would have a problem with is if your engine is petrol and they send you a diesel engine.

As long as its the same fuel it wont matter to much if its a bigger cc engine then it will have more power and less if the engine was smaller but they will all fit into your car so i wouldnt worry to much. Even if the engine was out of a car 2 years older than yours or 2 or 3 years newer as they are all the same.

Just make sure you get some sort of warranty because you are buying from a scrap yard they havnt been driving the car around its just come into the scrap yard and they take it that the engine is fine so once fitted check for any noises or oil leaks etc.

You will also need to put your gearbox off your engine onto the new engine as the new one is from a scrap yard it might have the clutch and pressure plate still attatched to teh new engine as this is not a part inside the gearbox but attatched to the engine so if your car had no problems with the clutch then make sure you change this over from your engine onto the new engine.

Also make sure you give the new engine a full service change oil and filter etc.

Also worth doing is once the car is running buy a fuel cleaner that you put into the fuel tank this will then run through the fuel system cleaning all the injectors as the chances are the car has been sitting for a while and may have got bunged up slightly.
Make sure you buy the correct fuel cleaner that goes into the tank ie petrol or diesel ok.

Let me know if you need further assistance ok.

My fiat punto 1.2 active has been cutting out for no reason it's a 53 plate running very rich on fuel just had an oxygen censor and a cooling censor fixed still running very rich on fuel

Sure they replaced the correct coolant sensor (not the one for the dash gauge)? Could be leaky fuel injector(s), bad fuel pressure regulator.

I have a punto 52 plate that makes a water bubbling noise when started (like water tank) it goes off after a couple of seconds. The car drives fine and the fan will automatically come on as if the engine...

Hi! I had that problem along with a few others a couple of years ago and was told different things by different garages! ended up spending a fortune fixing things that werent broken! anyway, it was the cylinder head gasket that had gone.
Mine was fine while driving fast as the air from outside was cooling the engine, but as soon as i started driving slowly, was stuck in traffic or stationary with the engine running, the needle for the temperature would rise quickly and the fans would come on. Eventually, after sitting in traffic one day, the engine totally over-heated and smoke started belching out the bonnet! lol! So, I would get it fixed asap if I were you! Think mine cost around £120 for a replacement, but shop around- I got quoted more than double that some places! Hope that helps!
