Distributer and gap for 1990 Chevy Suburban

I have two questions. Where can I find a Picture diagram of the correct placement for the spark plug wires on a 1990 Chevy Suburban 5.7L V8 and what is the proper gap for the plugs?

That was soooo helpful. Why didn't I think of that? Perhaps because in this economy I am BROKE.

Gap is .045
Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
1-3-5-7 is on the driver's side
2-4-6-8 is on the passengers side

I suggest you get either a Chilton's Repair manual, or a Haines Manual, but I doubt they'll show the exact wire setup, if you look at your Distributor Cap, you should be able to see the Number "1", from that, you'll need to know the rotation of the Rotor, and the firing order, which you can find in your repair manual, Make sure you install the longest wires, on the furthest Spark Plug(s), from the Cap, and with those in mind, that will give you what you need...Good Luck

I would go to your local auto parts store and purchase a manual for te vehicleif you own it. I get a manual for every vehicle I own and it gives you almost everything you need to work on your vehicle. If you don't plan on working on it then I would suggest getting a good mechanic.

I have a 1985 Suzuki GS700ES. Where do wires from my 2 coil packs go to which spark plug. Thanks

The 1985 Suzuki GS700ES is a motorcycle that is equipped with two coil packs, each responsible for providing the spark to two cylinders. To determine which wire from the coil pack goes to which spark plug, you can consult the wiring diagram for your motorcycle.
If you don't have a wiring diagram, you can also determine the correct wire placement by using a spark tester. To do this, you'll need to disconnect one of the spark plug wires from a spark plug and connect it to the spark tester. Then, turn on the engine and observe which spark plug is firing. Repeat this process for each of the remaining spark plug wires until you have determined the correct placement for all of the wires.
It's important to ensure that the wires are properly connected, as incorrect placement can result in poor engine performance or damage to the ignition system.

The starting circuit doesn't really connect to the distributer and as far as a module goes, it's not really connected to the distributer and has 4 wires going to it not 3. You said 3 wires and distributer in your question so I'm gonna try and help you and hope I am understanding what you are trying to ask. You didn't mention your engine size and the picture looks small but it really doesn't matter if you happen to have the 4.3 liter engine. The wiring is pretty much the same. The wire colors may be the same V-6 or V-8 Engine. Now the distributer does have 3 wires coming from the distributer (pink, pink with a black stripe and a brown with a white stripe). Those are for the cam shaft position sensor which is mounted on the distributer. I am guessing the engine won't start but does turn over and your not getting any spark at the spark plugs (kinda going by your question you wrote. If this is what is happening then yes the ignition control "Module" correct however that is mounted on the right (passenger) side of the engine basically on top of the valve cover. Like I said it has 4 wires going to it and if this is faulty you will not get any spark. In the picture with the engine, where I put the red arrow at is the general location of the module. The other 2 pictures are the wiring diagrams for the entire starting circuit and the wiring for the cam shaft position sensor. If I'm way off of what your question is you can reply here with more details in your question or feel free to email you directly at [email protected] Hope I was able to help a little bit anyway.

1990 350 suburban keeps stalling when at stop lights seem to idle down then stall

clean your throttle body.
check for codes; you might have a map sensor problem, or your tps might have a dead spot. 9 times out of ten it is a dirty throttle body; the iac can't react fast enough to regulate air when the small gap adjustment of the throttle body gets contaminated with a tarry buildup.

Had no spark. Replaced ignition mod, 2 coil packs, and computer. I now have fire; problem is engine will not run, the fuel injector sprays fuel (too much i think). When i unplug the injector the engine...

Check for any wiring pinch which might have occurred when the injector was replaced. The injector is driven directly by the computer, so it seems to point at the new computer as being faulty. (pulse signal is always 'on')

Recheck the spark plug gap - these so called pre-gapped plugs are not always correct, also check the primary and secondary resistance on your coil.
