if they work after moving the wires around to replace the sensor it sounds like when you move it around the bad wire makes a connection for a while so replace the connector and some of the wire

Individual motors for horizontal and vertical movement. Try moving seat while looking under at motors. Once you find the one that is not moving, try holding switch to foreward position and tap on motor with a screwdriver handle. This may get it going long enough to move so you can reach the pedals easier.
i guessed the rod that shifts the gear snapped. you said you can move the stick shift through all the gears without the use of the clutch. that is supposed to be impossible unless you are just holding the other end of the stick and the other end at the gear is not moving.
