My 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix was running just fine and I was leaving a cemetery and it just died that turns over it's got a brand new battery has a full tank of gas we've changed the relay fuse for the fuel pump and the fuse for the fuel pump we change the all three coils thinking that might be the problem with the mechanic thinks it's the key that was made back in 2018 from a dealership that I took and programmed and made the car work I really don't think it's that he thinks there's an aftermarket security system in it I don't think so because I was able to program the key and make the car work since the beginning of 2018 until almost two weeks ago

Could be the fuel pump, Chevy fuel pumps will die without warning. If the car has over a 100k miles then that's probably the culprit.

Easy way to tell if it is the key, is the security light on? If so, you should be able to leave the key in the ON position for 15 minutes or so and get the car to relearn the key. If not, I suggest making sure that there is sufficient fuel pressure at the fuel rail and make sure that the fuel injectors are metering.

SOURCE: 97 gtp turns over wont start..fuel pump runs enermidintly

yep i seen it in happen .i was at a gas station a guy drove car to the gas station on empty.he fill his tank up .could not get it to crank .some cars you have to restart fuel pump when run out of gas. like chrysler.you use a scanner. but chervrolet you run low over heat damage the pump.it has to stay submerge gas to keep it cool. check fuel pump pressure.it should be 41 - 47 psi.

If you replaced the fuel pump then there is a possibility that during the job then some debris from the tank and/or filter got loose somewhere into the fuel system and is in your lines. It could even be a very tiny speck of gasket material, old or new.

I have a 2002 grand prix gt v6 3.8. The car was running fine then out of know where it wouldn't start. After getting a jump I drove it home and the same thing happend when I tryed to leave again. I can...

Dont have a solution but i have a 3.1 and its doing the same thing. we checked fuel press. and its fine but some one told me that its the fuel pump because if you drive on a half a tank of gas or less the fuel pump is not cooling off properly so it shuts eng. off. cause fuel pump is going bad and it will not show any codes if tested. so i am replacing the fuel pump $260 hopefully this will solve the problem but try driving with full tank of gass it should not do it as often but after about 10 min car should start after it dies.

2002 grand prix runs rough, dies service engine

sounds like you have a vacuum leak, check all the vacuum hoses and replace any broken or kinked ones, also check around the intake manifold gasket for leaks. any air leaks after the air flow meter creates 'un-metered' air which inturn will make the car run rough and stall, hope this helps
