In the centre of the dash, just below the radio are two round knobs. Left side is fan speed. Turn that to 5. Right side turn all the way to the right for defrost. At this point, if the air isn't blowing out the top of the dash onto the windshield, you have a problem. This video may help.

Center dash climate control
Your owners manual should have all this info. my.gm.com should have your owners manual, it's free to read online.
For manual controls, red/blue dials, it's the far right dial. Turn the dial clockwise all the way til' it stops, that controls the front. The rear defroster/mirror is a small button below this same dial. By the way, it's an I6, not V6 :)

carmen.... locate the coil pack.... it has 6 wires going into the top of it. follow each of the six wires from there... they end at the spark plugs. if that motor is mounted sideways... which i doubt as i believe that is a rear wheel drive truck it should be pretty straight forward.

The actuator motor that controls the defrost,to floor,to vent ,has gone out, this will be a job to take to the shop, the dash will have to be pulled out toward the seats to replace the actuator motor.

it sounds as though you've got a wiring problem with your rear liftgate. this would cause the pin switch to think it's still open instead of closed, and the power loss to the wiper assembly. check your fuses first to see if there are any blown. then check and make sure your ground wire for the rear liftgate is clean and tight and not broken.

the spark plugs are located under the individual ignition coils that each cylinder has in the cylinder head, see picture of one coil that is used for each plug.

{: ) After installing the new driver door/window switch, the programmer needs to have access to GM's TIS2Web service, and a diagnostic tool like the Tech2 or MDI to interface computer with the vehicle through the DLC terminals.
