This sensor would be in the right bank as you face the ngine from under the hood, it is the sensor before the catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe, u will need a 7/8" wrench or special O2 sensor socket to replace it, the tool type depends on how hard it is to remove, spray the threads with WD 40 before trying to remove. go to the link to see the oreintation of your engines cylinder banks, bank 2 has cylinder numbers 2, 4 ,6 in it.

SOURCE: location of a o2 sensor 2001 nissan maxima

bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that #1 cylinder is on , and sensor 2 refers to downstream , after the catalytic converter. , this link shows bank 1 on a 2001 nissan maxima V6 being on the firewall side . if you had a 4 cylinder it would be downstream after the catalytic converter .

SOURCE: location of the bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor on a 2001 ford escape

B1 means the sensor is located on the same bank of the engine that has the #1 cylinder. B2 is located on the opposite bank.
S1 means the sensor is located BEFORE the catalytic converter
S2 means the sensor is located AFTER the catalytic converter

You didn't say which engine you have, so I've included the diagrams of both 4 cyl and 6 cyl so you can see the banks

SOURCE: see a visual diagram of heat oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 for ford taurus 2001

bank 1 exhaust is the rear manifold towards the windshield side. Follow the exhaust down. There should be one oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter and a monitor after the catalytic converter. Be Careful.. they look the same.

Where would the af sensor be located on my 2004 nissan maxima

your maxima has 2 a/f ratio sensors. they are both screwed into the exhaust manifolds. bank 2 which is the front bank by radiator has sensor clearly visible right by the fans. bank 1 is a pain in the rear to replace, because of its location by the firewall. you will need to perform "self learn reset" procedure after replacing the a/f ratio sensor, or the code will come back on, even tho you don't have an issue with the sensor. reset procedure gets done with nissans consult scanner.

4.6l engine. What is firing order?

Found this firing order.
As far as the sensor, you talking about 02 sensor? Bank one has the number 1 cylinder, bank 2 is the other bank, sensor 1 is the first sensor you come to, in the exhaust.

Where is the 02 sensor located for bank 1 sensor 2 on a 2000 nissan maxima

bank one is the left side of the engine, (so the front of the car) sensor 2 is the sensor past the cat. converter. just follow the exhaust coming out of the front of the engine, you will see sensor one from up top (usually) thn sensor 2 will be under car.

2001 Nissan Maxima service engine light stays on code from Auto Zone scanner is PO139 and PO138. What should my next step be to solve this problem.

code p 0138 refers to 2 items
1--heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) 2 bank 1--high voltage ==causes --wiring short to positive --HO2S---ECM
2--oxygen sensor (O2S) 2 bank 1--high voltage ===causes wiring short to positive ---ECM
code p 0139 refers to 2 items
1--- heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 2 bank 1--slow response ===causes --heating inoperative --wiring--ECM
2--oxygen sensor (o2S) 2 bank 1 slow response ===causes --wiring --- O2S

heated oxygen sensors9HO2S) are in the exhaust manifold before the cat converter
Oxygen sensors (O2S) are after the cat converter
it is indicated that the HO2S is faulty-
check the wiring and /or replace both sensors
