Did u replace the heater hoses as well. When u run your ac an idle up valve raises your rpms slightly whitch will pump more coolant. Other than that they should have nothing to do with one another.

I have a 2001 F150 4x4 supercrew. I smell antifreeze inside the cab. Sometimes there is a fog-like white substance that comes in through the vents when the A/C is on. Now I've noticed antifreeze...

Most likely there is a coolant leak in the heater core or one of the connections. The smell and fog coming from the AC vents points to coolant inside the AC/Heater blower compartment. Look for the AC drain hose under the truck and see if the coolant is coming from that. If so, that a sure sign of a leak inside the AC/Heater. Probably the core. There is no other source of coolant in that area. Hard to think a year old core is leaking but something there is. Could be the connections to the core.

Steam coming out oe heater vent

Sometimes on really hot and humid days, the AC will make a steam like vapor out of your vents and/or defrosters, but most often this is caused by a heater core leak.

Heater Housing

The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core. Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It is therefore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core.
Heater Core Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain access to the heater core. Remove the heater coolant hoses. Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped). Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps. Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing. To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps. When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

97 f150 noticed it leaking from a little tube on

if it is just the rubber hose going in, the rubber hose can be replaced. if the aluminum tube coming out of the firewall is leaking, it it part of the heater core, and the whole core will need to be replaced. good luck!

Car leaking coolant

First of all ensure that your car is leaking coolant fluid, and what is dripping is not just water condensation from the air conditioner.
If you have a coolant liquid leak, it can be from one of the ducts leading to radiator , from water pump or radiator itself. Check liquid levels, and if you have a leak have the car inspected by a qualified mechanic.
A broken water pump, for example, can cause your motor to blow in few miles.
