Why is my five hundred going on its 3rd set of rear brakes at 24,ooo miles?

  • c_howell1 Aug 14, 2009

the dealership said that they upgraded the pads on the second set, I guess being the first ones lasted until 8,900 and the second set I am at 24,000 so about 15,000 miles, rediculous!

Are they the premium pads or the cheapos? I recommend premiums on front and back. Front brakes do 80% of the stopping. Make sure front brakes are bled reall well

It should twist in both directions
unless it is rusted, and I would
doubt it ,after only 5 years

You have to flush brake fluid every
2 years on ALL Vehicles,SO !!

You should have a tool to turn it

On my Lincoln LS I had to modify

My brake lights and rear directional signals do not work on my 2006 Ford Five Hundred. I can't find a fuse? Any ideas?

The fuse panel is located under the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel. The brake lights are on fuse F18. It is the one on the bottom, all the way to the right hand side. That column has the most fuses in it. There are 7 total in that line. Good luck
