I have a 2001 Chevy Suburban and the ABS light is on and the ABS motor will not shut off even when the ignition is off. I have pulled the 70amp fuse to stop the motor from running from running.
Can someone help?
Thanks BIll
What you have is a ABS module that has shorted out internally. you have to replace that module and then bleed the ABS pump AND the brakes at all wheels.
Testimonial: " Thanks !This was very helpful. Do they have a abs relay and where is it located. Thanks, Bill "
The ABS relay for the ABS pump would be located in the fuse box/power distribution box in the engine bay. I do not know exactly whic on it is but it should be labeled on the little lid you have to remove
You may not hva e to if yu can remove that module. Whemn you remove it mke sure you do not see any brake fluid, If you do then you will have to bleed the pump and wheels.
ABS light ON, ABS pump is always running,. The module is failing causing problems with the ABS pump running constantly, also will drain your battery. Remove the ABS fuse to prevent ABS motor burn out. We repair ABS modules (also known as EBCM electronic brake control modules) for many vehicles, please see list below. Dont wait until your ABS pump burns out. There is a company that rebuilds it for $79. myairbags.com

I found a company that will rebuild the module for $130 dollars. All I have to do is take off the module and mail it to them. There is a 2 day turn around. If I do not remove the pump do I still have to bleed the pump and lines at the wheel?
There diretions said just toe wrap teh pump and connectors up real good to keep out dust particle.
What do you think.
The company is Module Master
Thanks Bill
