I was wondering if you figured out what was wrong with your car jbdnmos as I am experiencing the the same exact problem with my 96 Plymouth Voyager..
1997 plymouth grand voyager 3.3L... instrument panel gauges not working and engine light is on.
I still don't know what engine is in this van It can be a 2.4 (4 cylinder ) , a 3.0 ( 6 cylinder ) , and a 3.3 ( different maker 6 cylinder ) the engine trans mission systems are made by different manufactures and without this information it's like telling me car is the blue one. you know the problems that happen to the blue ones. Sounds like the exhaust is stopped up

after i drive car for about 20 miles, it starts to not want to change gears and loses rpms and eventually turns off. car has 136,000 miles just got about 2 weaks ago and I had a transmison hose fixed because it was leaking about 1 week ago. Its hard to say if last owner had same problem but i have a feeing he drove it with no transmission fluid because I had it fixed recently.
3.3 6 cylinder

Have you already tried to fix it and what didn't work? Is the other service work up to date or is it run down overheating surviver, wreak serviver gues you driveit was it good before it stepped back from good or have you been driving this clunker screewed up for awile?
