Fog lamps are installed on the front bumper. The switch is located to the left of the steering column on the dash panel. The fog lamps are turned off by the circuit relay when the high beam driving lamps are turned on. The circuit relay is located on the right front wheelhouse panel near the blower motor.

Good luck, and remember rated this help.
Removal & InstallationFog Lamp Element
See Figure 1
need a fuse box diagram to wire in fog lights - 558610d.gif
Fig. 1: Exploded view of a fog lamp assembly

  1. Remove the lamp stone shields, the four bezel attaching screws, and the bezel.
  2. Remove the reflector assembly from the lamp body.
  3. Remove the bulb holder from the assembly. Remove the element from the bulb.

DO NOT handle elements with your bare hands, always handle with a clean cloth. Oil from your hands will cause the element to fail.
  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Fog Lamp Switch
The fog lamp switch is removed and installed by simply prying the switch from the instrument panel and unplugging the electrical connector.
FOGLAMP BEAM ADJUSTMENT

  1. Position the vehicle on a level surface, facing a wall approximately 25 feet away. Remove the lamp stone shields and loosen the adjustment nuts.
  2. Turn the fog lamps ON and adjust as follows:
    1. Distance between the light beam centers should be equal to the distance between the lamp assemblies on the bumper.
    2. Height of the light beams on the wall should be 4 inches less than the center of the lamp assemblies when mounted on the bumper.
  3. Install all previously removed items after turning OFF the fog lamps.

2006 Jeep Wrangler dash fog light indicator does not come on. Fuses checked and multifunction switch replaced. No power to the fog lights. Where do I look next?

check fuse 19 in underhood fuse box. Check for battery voltage coming into the MF switch on the red/light green wire. Then check for battery voltage on the white/yellow when you turn on the fog lamps. Next, check for battery voltage on terminal B16 in the relay socket after pulling the fog lamp relay

2010 jeep grand cherokee laredo fog lights

If it didn't come with fog lights, it may also have not included a fog light relay and/or fuse. Check the owner's manual for fuse and relay locations, and then check if the necessary parts are there.

Location of foglight wiring harness

The Easiest Way is to Get the Wiring Harness Diagram with the Colors and Verify that you plugged the Fog Lights into the Correct Harness. I once had a FORD that had a Fuse BOX that had a FOG LIGHT and No Power to that Fuse.

Make sure you test the Fuse at the Box and then Trace the wires and if the Switch was wired at the Factory, you should be all set

Fog lights stop working

why not get a auto-electric shop to do what you cant do.
why not?
you want us web bunnies to teach electrics in this text box?
really>?
I can, but wont. not now,
what is best is leave the cars, electrics alone.
dont hack stock parts.
better is a clean install of fogs
also some states have laws on how fogs work, (logic based on headlamps or parking lamps) so .... i cant guess your state.
a new fuse box or inline fuse
a new relay,
a new switch
and wire it all so it cant catch fire. (that fuse does that)
if you need a schematic for fogs, its generic
and can be found 1,million hits on google

I want to install aux. backup lights and not wiring them to the jeeps backup ligts. I don't understand the switch. It has three prongs on the back The diagram shows one is power coming from the relay one...

What diagram? What switch? Are you using a switch that salready in the Jeep, or a switch that you bought? You really need a relay to handle th ecurrent of the lights. The relay will have 4 terminals, The relay is really just a remote switch. Let the relay take the power, not the switch. Buy a relay for fog lights and it should have a diagram you can use.

Where is the fuse for the fog lights on a 1998 jeep grand cherokke limited edition? Is there a fog relay also if so where is that at?

If the fuse blows when the switch is off the switch is bad too. If thefuses only blows when the switch is turned on you have a short in thewiring or bulb.

So first, I would removeboth driving bulbs from their sockets and see if there is corrosion.Fix that problem if there is corrosion.

Then install a fuse without the bulbs and see if the fuse blows. If youhave a test light you can bridge the fuse panel without putting a fusein. If there is a connection you have a hot wire grounding. If there isno problem install one light, fuse or bridge the fuse holder and see if1 light works. Try each side. This way you can isolate the problem. Then visibly inspect wiring.

Fog lights don't work

In my 99 Cherokee it was the switch itself. Bought one online for about 20 bucks and it took about 5 minutes to replace.

1996 jeep cherokee sport. I am trying to install a fog light kit. one switch, 2 fog lights. Need color wiring diagram or how to instructions. kit directions are terrible

If it's a lighted switch, you should have 3 terminal connections on it. One for the "ignition on" wire (from your fuse box). One going to the fog lights to turn them on when you flip the switch and one ground for the switch light to work. If your switch doesn't light, you should only have 2 terminal connections (no ground).

Find an "ignition on" plug on your fuse panel. It is only hot when you turn your ignition to the on position (not crank position). With your keys out, it should not have any power to it. Hook your "hot" wire from fuse panel to switch, take your keys out of the ignition first to be safe. Now hook the other wire from the switch to the "hot" on your fog lights. You will have to find a pass through rubber grommet on your firewall to go through. Use a clothes hanger to help fish it through. Now ground your fog lights to a grounding screw somewhere in the engine bay. There should be a few you can use, possibly one of the bolts that hold the front shroud on. Make sure it's a metal surface and use sandpaper to scrape off paint to get a metal to metal contact. Cover area with petrolium jelly to ward off rust. If your switch is lighted, hook to ground wire on fuse panel. Test with ignition on. If it doesn't come on, check your grounds again.
