My dims work part of the time on 2003 crown vic, brights work

The brights work fine on 2003 crown vic, but the dims only work part of the time. I myself think its a short somewhere.

If you have a 1999-2011 Mercury Marquis, Mercury Marauder, or Crown Victoria, and your headlights and or tail lights don\'t work, Ford just finally extended the warranty on your LCM (Lighting Control Module) for free - both parts and labor and will install a new one for free! Ford has extended the warranty to 15yrs/250,000. Must be done at Ford and the fix is free. Have your Vin # ready and call your local Ford Dealer and tell them you need to make an appointment because your headlights don\'t work and Ford has extended your warranty on the LCM. Tell them it is the Customer Satisfaction Program 14N01. If they act like they don't know what you are talking about ask to talk to the manager or tell them to call Ford Motor Company and ask them or you can call Ford yourself. We just had ours done on 8-12-14 in Scottsdale, AZ. If you have a 99 you better get there before Oct. 14th, 2014 as it is a 15 year warranty.

Try Autozone or similar and ask if they show a fusible link for the lights. Not sure if there are separate for low and high beam. Sometimes fusible links are under battery case and get crushed.

1995 t-bird v8. Starter will not crank, clicking noise coming from possible relay behind right headlamp. Battery is good and lights are bright no dimming when key is turned

The Ford V-8 they use in both Crown Vic and T-Bird are good for losing the solenoid to the starter. Replace that first before looking for a new starter.

1985 ford crown vic ltd 352 200k miles been running good burns NO oil.\r\ndriving at night engine shuts down. I turn lights off, wiggle turn signal switch and it starts again. Once I was making a right...

I dont see if the turn signal light has to do any thing with the engine shutting off, make sure the IAC idle air control valve is working, air filter is good, fuel filter is good and IF your vehicle has a power steering pressure switch then that could be causing it but with 1985 Crown Vic I dout it.

2003 crown vic multi switch

if there was power to the washer pump and its not working, it means the pump itself has gone bad. the dome light problem sounds like a door jam switch gone bad. unplug one by one until you find which one shuts the light off, then either replace it or leave it disconnected. if your headlights are dull, i would check the voltage going to them. if the voltage seems ok, i would look for a weak or corroded ground. could also try replacing bulbs. good luck!

Head Lights

If only the headlights are dull and not putting out the correct light, I would suspect a bad ground (earth) connection somewhere in the headlight circuit or the fuse for the headlight circuit. Something is causing excessive resistance and causing less voltage to be provided for the headlights. If all the lights are dimly lit, then I would check the charging system, the battery and the ground cable for the battery, chassis, and engine.
