It will lock/unlock with the key The other door and boot will operate by the fob and set the alarm. Can the system be re-set ? The alarm went off and now it is out of sync. The trouble is i am not sure if the alarm is set or door locked when I leave the car. Nightmare!!!!! Please help if you can. Thanks

It's sounds like the solenoud for the drivers door is shot, you need to chnage it.

Mervia. Why is central locking not locking any door?

It's only an educated guess. If all other locks switches are working it' either the switch panel itself or an electrical short. Switches are popular, get it checked first

Is it posssible to switch off imobliser or central locking

i've had similar problems with a hyundai coupe , you have'nt mentioned your vehicle , the problem with the coupe was the drivers door lock , as a tempory solution i removed the central locking fuse until could get the lock mechanism changed for the customer, removing the fuse means you will have to lock/unlock vehicle with the key in the door lock

12/6/2010 2003 bmw 325xi: Key does not manually lock/unlock driver door...but still works in ignition and trunk...central locking system still works to lock/unlock all doors(including driver) from...

If the key turns in the lock, but does nothing, then the linkage has become disconnected or broken. The key is mechanical to the lock and the lock has a electrical switch to operate the central locking unit. Could be a simple broken clip from the lock barrel. Hope this helps

Doors do not centrally lock with fob or key (they close but open straight away). Onlu option is lock drivers side with key and then lock the other 3 doors manuually. Ford Fiesta Mark 6 in the UK

hi
you need to try a couple of diffrent things with this problem

1- get in drivers seat close doors and lock by hand
,
2- then put key in ignition and turn key till dash lights come on (do not start)

3- while key in ignition unlock doors with fob ,

4 - then lock again with fob while key in ignition.

5- then remove key exit car try locking doors from out side this should reset all your door locks

First thing first-change battery in fob-most jewelers can do this as well as dealers-takes more power to unlock than lock

Central locking wont stay open

Here's what I suspect is happening. The door locks will lock and unlock normally when the key is OUT of the ignition. If the key is IN the ignition, the doors cannot be locked (manually, key fob, or otherwise, if the system is operating as designed - prevents the doors being locked when the key is in the ignition). I've seen this problem before, but on a Santa Fe, not an Accent. The ground signal of the right hand front passenger door was lost, and the doors automatically locked. Perhaps something similar is happening in the circuit between the ETACS module and the right front passenger door lock/unlock actuator. Could be anywhere in the circuit.
