My 2002 chevorlet trailblazer LT abs light came on and stays on and turns off if i break and when i let go it goes on it started a couple weeks ago now the light doesnt turn off at all i took the fuse out and the light is still on and when i took the fuse out my parking brake light came on i have no clue if there interconnected or something i brought it in to a auto place they said its the left abs wheel sensor but it may just be dirty possibly i dont have the tools to take the wheel off so yea they said the part would be like 390 or something because the abs sensor and wheel bearing is all one piece is there any harm in keep using it with the light on ill just live with manual brakes? till i get the cash to fix it is there any way to turn off the stupid light do i switch the ignition off and on a certain amount of times ?

First you need to have EBCM - electronic brake control module check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . If the light is on there is a code stored . I think most part stores can do this and for free . After you find out what code is stored , looking up that code in service repair information for diagnostic trouble shooting chart would be next step . There are a few codes too.

Find the code do the diagnostic's , fix the problem , wiring issue's , a sensor , bad module ,what ever it is . The light will go out then . Here is a sample of code discription .

• DTC C0040 Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit

Check front brake pads for wear and possible replacement. If never changed originals, there is a high likelihood they are worn out.

Your brakes might be freezing shut.but there was a crack in the brake plate in my truck and it was messing with the bracket abs it could also be freezing the abs sensor

It sounds like you have a bad wheel-speed sensor and the ABS computer is thinking a wheel is locking up when you try to stop and engaging your ABS system.

Most likely one of your ABS sensors are dirty or the wire has corroded. Common for the sensors to get dirty since there magnetic and a simple cleaning will fix this. The ABS sensors are on each wheel on the inner side and can be cleaned with brake parts cleaner. If there was rust from the rotor or dirty that got in between the speed ring and sensor, you most likely have to replace the sensor.
Start with cleaning and inspecting the sensors, it my just be dirt build up and the sensor needing realignment which is a quick fix. After that and you still have the ABS light on, one of your sensors have gone bad. Go to Auto Zone and buy the brake parts cleaner and have them scan your trailblazer for which ABS component when bad to help address which sensor it is and yes they scan free of charge.

sounds like a bad speed sensor somewhere. Have the dealer look 2008 should be under warranty

HAVE IT SCAN.AT DEALERSHIP.THEY HAVE TO USE A ABS SCANNER TO CHECK IT OUT.

There is no way to turn off the abs light. The system works through the abs module, even if that fuse is pulled the light will remain on.

The brakes will work but you will not have the abs safety working for you.

Have it fixed ASAP!!

never ignore any light on the dash as they are there for a reason and not decoration

have autozone scan it for free could be multiple things wrong wheel speed sensors to abs pump does it come right on after starting? or do you have to drive it???
