What freon goes in air condition?

This car originally contained R12, if you can find it you can use it. The other option if this has not already happened is you can convert the system from R12 to R134a, which is readily available, all auto part stores carry these kits. R12 AC fitting are threaded and R134a systems have slip on quick connect fittings.

I have a 1996 Ford Taurus GL and need to add freon

if the port you are trying to connect to is bigger than the connector on the hose, then that is the wrong one. that's the high side. you want to connect to the low side, which is a smaller fitting. the fittings for 134a are quick disconnect.

Use r13 in 1992 ford thunderbird

the only way to check that is to look under the hood, and look for your AC. there will be a little sticker that will say "R13a" if you can. i believe that ford didnt start using it until 95 though

Have a 1986 F-350 A/C puts out cool air but not cold. Don't know if system is R12 or 134A. Compressor is centr and has 2 threaded black caps with schrader valves for gage connection plus 1 quick disconnect...

in 1986 it is r12 but you can convert to r134 which is a ton cheaper than paying for r12 you need a license to buy r12 r134 is right on the shelf at auto zone they also sell retro fit kits with everything you need to convert your system and they work very well

Want to replace fron in 93 ford probe

1993 is a split year, if you have charging ports are a little bigger than the size of a tire valve stem then u have R12, if they are big then you have R134, most all Ford in 93 use R12. In the picture are adapters for a retrofit to R134, these screw on an R12 port, note the large cap R134 cap on the end of the adapter.

Dont know were the port is to charge my air on 1999 for expiditio

there are two lines under the hood from the compressor, the one that is located in the larger of the two lines is the charging port, you say your charging nipple doesn't fit on either? are u using R134 refridgerant charging adapters? they are very large in comparison to the older R12 refridgerent system which was phased out in 1993.

R12 to R134

You have to have the R12 completely evacuated. This is done at a repair facility that works on A/C. The only thing after that is screwing on 2 fittings to your existing lines and charge your system. Companies make retro-fit kits so the owner can do it themselves. These kits are available at most part stores.
