If the AC pressure drops too low in the sealed system it will not allow the AC pump to actuate and never cool the air. Have an auto shop attach a pressure meter to the AC fill / test valve and determine if your low. If you are you can get it filled, or purchase aftermarket fill cans at auto shops.

My 03 Impala is throwing the code that declares the catalytic converter is not working efficently... . how can I determine exactly what that is and will it effect the way the air conditioner works?

Nothing to do with your air conditioner

Where did you come up with that?

Your exhaust converter failed in 8 years
& should last 12 or a lot more

Need to find out why

I suspect the engine hasn't run right in years
& ruined it

Can not go to inspection like that

My 2006 impala blows air, but it is not cold at all. What could be the problem?

I would recommend that you raise the hood, locate the air conditioner compressor, turn on the ac in the car, and see if the compressor kicks on. If it does not, then you will need to have the ac charged. If it does kick on, then you need to pay attention to how it cycles, meaning kicking on/off, if it is frequently, then you need to charge it as well.

2000 Chevy Impala Squeaky/Leaky air conditioner

Mine did that a few years ago, I just opened the hood and removed all the leaves and debris that was inside the area and it stopped. Also, I found that if I ran the air conditioner a little on the super hot days, it helped. No issues now, tho. Good Luck
