I noticed that once in a while my key wouldnt turn and needed to jiggle key to make it turn, i used my spare key and thats when ignition stopped working, i think key did caused something to break in ignition and now both keys wont turn.I removed the ignition which was easy just removed a few screws and used a screw driver to turn the ignition but it doesnt start.Alarm was off.Can someone please tell me what problem might be.thanks
Your car uses a transonder key, a key with a small chip embedded inside. The transponder is matched to the immobilizer unit in your car. When the key is inserted into the ignition, the immobilizer searches for that transponder, if it's not near the ignition, the car will just keep turning over and not start. Your only real options are to replace the steering lock or buy a transponder bypass unit, which I do not recommend. Just do a google search.
