The code is Torque Converter Clutch solenoid valve. Need to have it check or replace.
I have the same issue, rebuilt the tranny and replaced the solenoid, checked electrical and functionality of soleniod and I am still having the same problem.
I notice it happens in the 50-60 mph range. If I le the truck warm up then hit the road and quickly excellerate to 65 or above and stay there I can go with out any trouble. If I should forget and run in the 50 to 60 MPH range, I will get the code. if I drive that way a second time, the MIL will come on showing P1776 twice.
Been there done that, thanks
I notice when the OBD2 lite comes on, the Fuel Sys 2 reads CL-Fault.
Could there be a problem with the downstream O2 sensor causing the transmission to throw the code? Just thinking outside the box. I never get the O2 code.
Turned out to be the valve body. Aamco replaced it with a used one that they rebuilt and that took care of it. They also said that the valve guide of this transmission has the governor as part of it. Not sure what that means but there yea go
how much did aamco charge you?? i have the exact same problem
Cannot give an exact cost because it was part of a complete rebuild but 4 years later its still going strong
