I would start with a complete tune-up then if its running rich(black smoke) need to fix the problem like new air filter(s) and such do a compression test of each cylinder (one at a time) and see if readings all come close..may have burnt valves or blown head gasket also look at vacuum systems and see if any hoses are off missing or broken repost on this please thanks...
If the injectors are weak it will do this. If there is not enough fuel delivery from the fuel injectors the car will do what is called a lean pop. kind of like a back-fire in the intake.
When you hop into the car you may need to jump on the revs a bit more to be able to bound off the line smoothly. Was the car built in a leap year?.Nah.Seriously.If the motor is out of tune the engine will behave like you said.Get that checked and also ask the shop to check the clutch is operating smoothly and not shuddering.Take-off revs is around 1100-1200 revs min. Hope this helps
replace IAC (idle air control valve) and replace coilpack, wires, plugs that should solve your jumping and reving.-z i have one i replced all above and have no problems scince
