I have purchased a 2006 2.7 litre V6 twin turbo diesel,C6 Citroen, with 147000 kms on the speedo. It is in excellent condition but I have a problem. The motor runs very well with load on in, with acceleration, and okay on deceleration. 80% of the time when cruising on the float speed the engine is missing sometimes and surging. It's only when no load is applied. Can anybody help me? Alwyn
Fuel filter possibly clogged, or a fuel pump problem.
But the first thing I'd try is the next time it happens pull over and slowly unscrew the gas cap. If you hear air being sucked in you have a Vapor Lock problem. A vent hole is plugged, = new gas cap.
Has it got a carborator or fuel injection ? If a carborator then have that checked out.

Sounds like you have a fuel system problem

You could have a bad or contaminated Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. You can get a used one online for less then 100. You can also purchase a can of MAF sensor cleaner at a local auto supplies store and clean it. It located right at the air filter housing.

my 1995, 6.5 diesel turbo just shuts off when running
SOURCE: has low power, surges @ cruizing speed, rough idle (code 32)
You can remove the egr and see if it has been sealing, and if it still moves.

Check your TPS Throttle positioning sensor. Sounds like it has a dead spot in it or it is failing. May also be a wiring harness issue or loose connection at TPS too! If its intermittent then it will soon go out completely. It should be located on your fuel pedal. Remove it and check it with an ohm meter. Check resistance all the way thru from 0-100 percent. When it is not working it should do nothing and show no resistance. When it is working the resistance value will increase and or decrease as you turn the sensor.
