Pontiac doesn't use fuel pump reset switches ,no GM vehicle does . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .One that knows how to view wiring diagrams an test electrical circuits with a DVOM digital volt ohmmeter .

Ford use an inertia fuel cut off switch .

SOURCE: fuel pump location 2001 pontiac grand am

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank.Sit in the car.....turn on the ignition switch to run.....listen very closely to the rear of the car...or have someone kneel down by the back wheel.....you should hear a "prime cycle"......the pump running for 2 or 3 seconds if the key was off for 15 seconds before trying this.If you hear silence you most likely need a fuel pump. Before pulling the tank down....check for power on the gray wire at the fuel tank connector just ahead of the rear axle under the car.Check for power with a test light that will last for 2 to 3 seconds as you turn on the key to run.Power means you really most likely need a pump.No power means you may need a fuse or a fuel pump relay.

SOURCE: Fuel pump on 2004 pontiac grand am does not come

Well i would change the fuel filter first. Then if that doesn't fix it there might be a reset button on the inside of the trunk for the fuel pump actually look for the reset button first. If you don't have one there is a relay switch under the hood sometimes they fail. You have three Ac,Fuel pump, door locks. The way i do it is turn the key on have some one put there hands and feel for the switch to work when you engage the power locks mark it with white tire crayon and feel for the ac when you turn it on it will still click even with the engine not running. mark that one also, Now the last one has to be the fuel pump relay turn the key on and it should click. if no click is heard? You have a bad fuel relay switch. replace it. If you feel the click and hear it? That would mean the fuel pump is bad. And these are in the tank. But please go with the easy stuff first. it might seam a waste of time checking the relays and marking them but i always fo this and mark them. cause you never know when your gonna need to find the relay something.
Good luck!
Hope i helped.

Reset switch for fuel pump

Hi,
Unless you've had a serious head on accident/collision/sledge hammer incident you should not have to go near the fuelpump reset switch. It will be clearly mentioned in the owners manual and may be visible under the hood , (clearly marked) . Any dealership will identify the exact location !

Where is the oil filter on 2004 pontiac grand am?

Oil filter on the 3.1 liter engine on the 2004 Grand Am is located on the engine, just below the exhaust manifold on the radiator side. To remove it, your going to have to jack the front up off the ground to give you room to get to it. Once your under the car, you'll see the oil filter just under the exhaust manifold attached to the engine block.

Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, check gas cap

Could possible be the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. It is located on top of the fuel pump. The fuel pump access is located in the trunk, under the carpet, behind the back seat. The AutoZone part number is SU 1390.

GM cars don't use a fuel pump reset switch, they use an oil pressure fuel cut off sensor, same thing different way of doing the job, it the engine stops with the key in the on position or u loose oil pressure the fuel flow stops..
