I took the spark plug wires out of my 1999 Mercury Villager-

I don't know where the spark plug wires go on the engine block. It's a V6 and one plug is on the left side, two are on the top and three on the bottom. I know the firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6, but I don't know which wire goes to which spark plug. HELP!

I would like to know the coil resistance values for a 2000 mercury villager 3.3litre engine. thank you.

easiest way to test the coil is to put a hose about 3-4 inches long on coil then put spark plug in other side of the hose and have a helper turn the key. look for a blue spark at the plug. if no spark then that side of the coil is bad.

I think you should take it to a repair shop, to have it
properly diagnosed & repaired

Your asking what someone thinks--how would we do that?

Your then asking, if you should try something else,AFTER
you were told what the code was,(a misfire on cylinder #5)

Now you see why I don't think it is within your ability to resolve?

1999 Mercury Cougar 2.5 V6, had a cracked head and/or blown headgasket. Had the motor replaced now it is skipping on one cylinder.

pull the leads one at a time from the coil pack. if you pull a spark plug wire and the engine rpm doesn't change and there is a weak or no spark the coil pack is likely the problem.
