The Code you refer to is P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction (PRNDL Input). It is a possiblility that because this code is present, this sensor is malfunctioning. If it is malfunctioning, that means the engine needs to "guess" the value that this sensor is responsible for. In most cases when this happens, the engine will go for a value that ensures the car runs. The engine will not try to run smooth or efficently, it will only try to run. You do not need to remove the whole headlight assembly. From inside the engine compartment find the back side of the headlight assembly, first remove the power connector by squeezing the sides of it. This power connector is no bigger than a ping pong ball but is square looking and has a few wires leading into it. Then you have to pull back the round rubber boot from the back of the head light assembly. Remove the boot and lay it aside. After that push downwards on a metal tab wire that is bent in the shape of a small paper clip. While the tab is pushed down it also must pop backwards to clear the plastic notch that it is hooked into. I used a small screw driver. This same wire extends around to the opposite side of the bulb where it is hinged. This wire holds the bulb in its mount. The paper clip like tab you push on is on the side of the bulb that is away from the motor. The bulb will come out easily now. Note the way it comes out and put new bulb back in the same way. There are 3 square tabs on the bulb that need to go into the 3 matching notches inside of the headlight assembly. They keeps the bulb in the correct position. Inserting and positioning the new bulb does not require any force. Re-connect the wire tab mount that secures the bulb. Remember... fingers off the glass part of the bulb.
