Is this a loud buzzing/hissing sound while the motor is running? Sounds like a bad ground. The sound is alternator noise back feeding through the system. Most comonly heard through your tweeters (high frequency smaller speakers). Are you running an amplifier to your speakers at all? If amped try a noise filter on the positive lead (will have instructiions on installation). Check all grounds for solid connection is more then likely the cause

SOURCE: 1993 buick century. motor noise stsrted coming out

spark plugs been changed ? cheap plugs can cause this. spark plug wires ok? broken spark plug wire can cause this too or one just arcing to ground pass a loose boot raise hood after dark and run motor watch over all wires to see anything noticeable. Dont touch anything while running or things could go bad for you fast... some electric fan motor have a filter bolted to them this could be? does it vary with the engine? or stay one level? if all else fails it might be easyer to pick up a filter and install it in the power cable to your radio?

My 1993 buick century will run great, I even put a new battery and high output alternator in, but my car lights still dim and the other day it just turned off and I turned it back on but when I put it in...

You could be sitting on a hot seat - literally. There is probably a wire shorting out under your seat and it has a control wire for the seat adjustment motors. Adjust your seat and go to the fuse box and read the labels. Pull out the fuse from the slot that contains the seat power supply.

Changed the heater core on a 1993 buick century and now it wont start

I need Moe info. Does it turn over? Does it try to start, but just not for? The core is in close proximity to some wiring that is essential to the start sequence and if cut or otherwise disconnected would allow the engine to turn over but not fire.

Have a 1993 Buick Century that keeps overheating. New thermostat put on, new water pump put on, radiator has been rodded out & flushed & engine flushed. Help!!!!

You do not mention the fan. Is your fan working? Start the engine and turn on the A/C this should force the fan on. If it does come on with the A/c you will have to see if it comes on during normal operation ( start the engine w/o A/c and let it run until the temp gage gets into the red) If it does not come on by itself you have a bad block temp sensor / or fan relay circuit.. Hope this helps Fix Ya up. If you have to in case of emergency, straight wire the fan from the battery. It is a two wire motor. One positive and one negative wire (12vdc). Watch the fan blades for rotation and wiring polarity, the fan pulls thru the rad.

1993 Buick Century - horn is not loud enough to pass inspection.

The horn is in the front of car behind bumper. Looks like little black horn. Some cars have two right next to each other, but many cars just have one. If volume is lower, horn is failing.
