Don't get any air from vents on 1998 Chevrolet astro van. Just replaced clutch fan. Air cond. works fine and fan works fine. Is something not connected?

not understanding, you replaced a clutch fan under the hood and your air condition work fine and the fan? fan clutch under the hood does not have anything to do with AC unit. If you blower (fan) is working located under the passenger glove compartment ( you can hear it running), than you should getting some kind of air coming out of the vent, either floor, top defroster and face vent and Im assumed you can hear the compressor kick on and off. If everthing is working properly such as fan and the compressor, than you have to tear the dash apart and get in the AC control valve and see what not causing the valve to work.

SOUNDS LIKE THE AC CONTROL HAS LOST VACUUM FROM THE ENGINE, YOU MAY HAVE KNOCKED A HOSE OFF WHILE CHANGING THE FAN CLUTCH, IS THE AIR COMING OUT THE DEFROST VENTS BY CHANCE?

Heater Core in a 1998 Chevrolet Astro Van in quuestion... after replacing water pump, thermastat driving arround the block my van is still over heating there is also no heat comming out of ac what can i...

Start by double checking the coolant level. If this is good then, what I know of the way these things are made, purchase a chemical flush (from any auto parts store = $10 and add it to the system with the heat on high in the cabin. This will also help flush out any air bubbles. Drain and reill with good, clean coolant and distilled water (less minerals and contaminants which plug radiator cores). Do you notice the any fans coming on when the A/C is applied? If so... great! The very next to do is whilst the engine is running, wrap a rag around your hand, grab the fan in the front of the motor. Now don't worry, you will not get your fingers chopped off! Just make sure your rag doesn't get caught in any belt. If the fan stop right away and there is no felt resistance, IT IS FAULTY!! It must be replaced. Very and an inexpensive repair. This the responsible for engaging the fan blades the pull more air into the engine area via the radiator. Common fix. These do wear out!! Let me know if you need to change the fan clutch.

Air only blows out on windshield & floor when

THERE IS A VACUUM LINE THAT GOES FROM THE LEFT FRONT OF THE ENGINE TO THE VACUUM CHECK VALVE NEAR THE ACCUMULATOR. IF THAT LINE IS BROKEN THE PROBLEM YOU HAVE IS NO HVAC MODE SWITCHING.

1998 Astro Van Heater AC Blower only works on medium & Low

Yes, in high it bypasses the resistor and uses a high blower relay. But I think on 1998 Astro the High relay and the resistor are built together. It should be mounted in the blower box real close to the blower motor.

2002 Astro van ventilation fan problems.

The problem is a 1/8 diameter hose that runs from the front of the engine over the top and connects at the rear of engine on the drivers side. It is a vacuum hose #GM15967970 It cost about $6.22 at your GM dealer. Hope this helps Bill. My E-Mail is [email protected]
