Check your volts of the battery. Should read around 12.8 or higher. While running it should read about 14.5 Sound like you have something in the fuse panel draining the battery. Your best bet is watching YouTube to properly check the battery and all the fuses with a multimeter.
Hope this helps

Check to make sure that there's power from the alternator to the battery on the charge-back wire. If nothing's there, then your alternator is junk and you'll have to replace it again.

If it's a 3.8 it should have a 130 amp alternator. Sounds like you have a 110 amp alternator and not putting out enough amperage. Ecm thinks that since it's only getting 110 amps instead of 130 amps, something is wrong, so it's warning you that there is a problem.

SOURCE: dodge neon 2002. My alternator is not charging,

wires run direct to alternator from battery ,test big lead for a permanant 12v supplyon the back of the alternator if you have one then the problem is either the brushes worn out or the commutator worn through.or the regulator either way its a recon unit as parts are not sold seperate anymore as not many dealer mechanics know how to repair anything and the spares shops make more profit on a unit than parts so they do not sell spares to stop people like me and you from doing our own repairs

SOURCE: 1993 Dodge D350 diesel alternator not charging

Hi, I will keep this short, but just a tip on the tester they use, I had one bench tested and it showed up it was good and the built in regulator was good also. Put it in the auto along with a $75 battery, and the discharge light was still on!!. So, I checked all of the charging circuit wiring finding nothing wrong, and put a rebuilt alternator on. Took care of my problem, the alternator was intermittent, sometimes charging when they checked it at Auto-Zone, but stopped putting out when I put it back on the car. I lived 16 miles from the auto store, so it was a pain going back and forth, plus the cost of gas!! I would change it out if you can at this time. I am sure this is what is going on if all looks good under the hood as far as wiring. Check to see if you have the 75 amp alternator fuse under hood also. It may be gone. Make sure the hot cable to the alternator and wiring plug is OK. Change it out and you will be good!
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

My 2005 dodge neon stx stalls after the neg battery cable is removed.

Yes this is what happens when you disconnect the battery while engine is running. The alternator keeps power going to all components as well as charging battery, this is alternating current or AC. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

My 2000 dodge neon battery light came on when I ran my defrost then smelled like electric fire now new battery won't charge for even ten min help

Thats most likely cause there was a short in the alternator, regulator or rectifier charging circuit.. You will need to have this Professionally looked at but be prepared to purchase a new alternator and the wiring for it.

2004 dodge neon will not turn over

have you replaced the battery? the car draws it's electricity from the battery, then the alternator replaces the charge to the battery. if the battery is shot and will no longer hold a charge the car will not stay running once you remove the charge as in removing the jumper cables

Why would my battery not be charging, already changed the alternator and battery and still it is giving a low amp possible wiring? Old alternator tested and it is fine and installed a new one and still not...

find out if the voltage regulator is built in the alternator,

if not find it and test it.

If it is, it could be bad plugs for the alternator or bad wiring in the charging circut
