SOURCE: Alarm system malfunction?

hi from uk as previous reply has said it may be your battery? if your alarm incorporates voltage drop sensing ? any drop in batteries voltage will activate alarm ie if door /boot is opened the interior light/s will come on giving signal to alarm of sudden drop in voltage however if battery is old ? it may be deteriating ? a discharge test at a motor store /garage will confirm if this is fault ? and would be suspect if this fault has occured suddenly having no probs prior ? hope this helps ?

This is common in all MOPAR vehicles. You will need to go to the dealer to correct this unless you are ASE certified in MOPAR electronics. It is a hard problem to diagnose as there are several causes.

2004 Jeep Liberty. No Start. Does anyone have any ideas?

That is a whole lot of issues that needs an auto electrician and a pro grade scan tool computer. We have a pro electrician here @Jeff Armer and hopefully he will chime in. Sounds like a communication issue with BCM and ECM which I think is combined into a TIPM.

My alarm does not make any sound, the hazards flash though on my 2005 jeep Cherokee Liberty

If it did ever work for you, then the problem should be the horn itself, the wiring to the horn, or the sensor/computer that tells the horn to blow.
Otherwise, the whole system may be defective.
God bless your efforts.

My horn went off and will not turn off on my 2005 Jeep Liberty unless I remove the battery cable. the engine however will start. Security system was not activated when horn went off.

gotta love bad advice,
KJ car
and you failed to scan the PCM, so you really dont know
what system in the car set off that alarm of the 3 or 4 possible.
so, ill not guess.
to fix cars or advise, one must know how this car works.
and Tralaina dont.
the 05 KJ , FSM book is free to view. linked below'

the first answer is pull the horn RELAY,
do not pull FUSE JB F11, this kills other vital systems.
unplug horn actual or the relay (for a nice stop gap fix)
long gap, (LOL)? fix sure.
scan the PCM and win.

the horn switch activates the horn relay
as does the BCM.
but wait what causes BCM to honk horn.,
lots of things.
alarm, inputs WRONG
key fob door lock access. controls , gone wild.
and more, i dont have all programming of BCM, facts.
but is not important , what does matter is SCANNING the PCM.

YOU will get DTC errors, and now you know, WHY and WHAT
set off the alarm.

the JB is drivers cab box. J11 will kill
Pulled
sun roof
and power windows. (my guess is that is important to you)
if you pull that top fuse in PDC box, lots more dies. lots.

Need cooling system diagram for 2010 jeep liberty 3.7 v6

It is electric. It is mounted in the center on top off the air plenum. You have to remove the dash to get to it. Last one I did was the heater core. 2003, had to remove the dash out of the vehicle, drop the steering column and remove the air plenum. All day job. You need a manual, lots of nuts, bolts, and screws to remove.

Horn going off for no reason

If the battery is good then you have a defective door ajar switch, have the dealer keep the car until it can be confirmed that the horn is going off and it is the alarm system, they can scan it and see what the cause is.

Just locked my doors on a 2010 jeep liberty and went to get back in and key fob is not functioning. can i get in without setting off the alarm or what should i do?

Open the door and immediately place the key in the ignition, that will shut off the alarm. The batteries in the Keyfob are probably dead and need to be replaced. You will see that the keyfob can be opened, though do it carefully, and you can replace the batteries. This will fix the remote. You may also have a valet button in the car which temporarily disables the alarm and will keep the alarm from sounding if the door is opened.

My horn went off and would not turn off on my 2005 Jeep Liberty. The remote key won't work and the engine will not work with my key

Your alarm has been set off, once this happens the engine can not be started until the alarm is clear. It pretty much disables your ability to drive the car just in case it would be stolen. The dealer will need to check out to see if the alarm malfunctioned or ? what caused it to go off.

Keyless remote still works but the alarm system and horn seems to be deactivated. What could be the problem?

If you look in the jeeps owners manual for the keyless remote section, you can program the horn to honk or not honk when you lock the doors.
