I need a Toyota 4sdk8 manual for a DZ1 motor that contains information regarding the fuel injection pump. I have the repair manual but there is no info in it on this topic. Please help?

I don't know if your fuel injected or carb? If your fuel injected, probably electric fuel pump, in the gas tank. If not fuel injected, probably a mechanical fuel pump, under the hood, note picture.

the fuel pump should get the fuel up to the injectors. do you hear it click on and buzz when you turn key to start. check owners manual and find the fuse to the fuel pump and make sure it is good.you should not need to prime the fuel injection. also you may have a cloged fuel filter.check fuel at the fuel rail with engine off and cold... if fuel there it will spary, so be careful. if no fuel at the rail then check fuel pump ... good luck

pump you are referring to is the fuel primer/air bleed pump when you replace the fuel filter. Try using a fuel or gallon container and feed fuel directly on the injection pump by gravity. what is the mileage of your pickup? the fuel pump is inside the injection pump. After fuel feeding the pump thru gravity and it corrects the problem, you may have a leaky fuel filter or hoses.

It could be the reluctor ring on the crank shaft.

2002 Lincoln LS uses a saddle-type fuel tank consisting of 2 fuel pump modules. A fuel transfer pump in the left side of the fuel tank supplies fuel to the right half, which contains The Fuel Pump Module (FPM). The FPM contains the fuel level sensor and an inlet filter. The FPM is controlled by the Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM) which is integrated into the Rear Electronic Module (REM) Fuel pressure is regulated by a pulse-width modulator in the FPDM which cycles the fuel pump on and off at varying intervals depending on engine load and RPM. The FPM supplies fuel under pressure to the fuel injection system supply manifold and a fuel level signal to the fuel gauge on the instrument panel.
It is recommended that if one of the fuel pumps fail that BOTH pumps be replaced as a set to avoid repeat repairs. (If one pump has been running for 1500 hours and the motor is worn out, the other pump also has been running for 1500 hours and is very likely to fail shortly thereafter.)

Can you tell me make model year do you have fuel injection. If you have fuel injection you do have a fuse, common places for fuses is on the side of dash board (either side) in glove box back or side under dash left side. Also look under the hood in the engine compartment to see if the is a fuse box with a fuse marked fuel pump. If you cannot find the fuse you will need to get a repair manual.

Think you should check the fuel pump and the filter. Fuel pump pressure should be around 3.5 bar with engine at idle. It would be better for you to have this checked at your repair shop as it requires special equipment. Regards Johngee

Alright, i have a 1987 Toyota 4x4. it has a 22RE full injected motor..it was able to run, but it was running rich, and idling pretty eratic..and then now..it only starts up..and dies. after like 5seconds.

Along with the fuze, there is also a relay in the system. If the relay is defective you will not have any power to the pump. Best to check for current at the pump connector (near or at the fuel tank) with either a test light or volt meter. If you have power, the pump is bad. if not, check the relay and retest.
