It's probably nothing worse than a strained or broken shift linkage It'll need to go into the shop, but if it is just the linkage, it wont be to expensive. HOT TIP: Get better security on your car to stop it happening again. It'll be cheaper than fixing the damage

My Chevrolet impala 2008 won't drive or reverse, never gave me any warnings regarding transmission issues

You either need to change the throttle position sensor or the gas pedal I got a 2008 Impala I had to put a new gas pedal in in so it would function properly

Why would a2008 Chevy Impala automatic transmission only drives in reverse ?

Hi, have you tried changing the oil filter? Or check the selector where it goes directly into the box, otherwise the selector inside the "brain" of the gearbox is knackered. Unfortunately the only way to fix it is virtually a full rebuild but I'd definitely check the filter first. Regards, Neil

Izuzu rodeo drives forward on reverse gear

redux. (A/T trans answer not STICK SHIFTED manuals)
no years stated
no transmission stated, auto or stick.

stuck in Reverse.
linkage checks are first.

the trans has lever on the side
called the Manual valve.
it that lever does not go to DRIVE,
then there will be no drive.
there is a cable from the Shift selector to that
transmission side lever.

inspect these parts for proper movement
no damage, not slipping cable, etc.
only you can do that.
or your mechanic.

My 2002 dodge grandcaravan sport 3.3L goes into gear but wont drive or reverse fliud level is good what could it be?

well first you want to make sure the linkage is tight it might say its in drive but on the trans it might not be pushing the lever and or if electronic faulty sensor also check fluid color is it bright reddish if so thats good if its really dark and smells burnt probably somthing internally wrong you may also have clogged trans filter

Sounds less like a transmission slip as a rear end issue. What exactly happens on the turn?

How far can you drive on a spare tire ''donut''.

It should say on the Donut Not to exceed 35 Miles Per Hour. It is OK to drive on, Just make sure that it is Properly Inflated and you do not go too Fast as it will shred the tire and you will have a Bigger Problem!

My automatic 1994 honda accord goes in gear but doesnt drive. look at details

If the jerks that stole your radio forced the shifter back, the linkage to the transmission (cable) is probably screwed up, or the shifter too. I assume you had no trouble before this incident. Also check the trans fluid level (warm up car and check according to instructions in your owners manual), although I'm sure it's screwed up from the morons that stole the radio. sounds like a job for the dealer or a body shop. the cable is probably out of sync w/ the shifter. Do park or reverse, or low gears work?. You may be able to save a few $ by checking the auto junkyard for the parts you need. good luck! countrycurt0
