The fastest way to check for the problem is to have a scanner hooked up to the obdii system and see which sensors change when you shift into drive.

SOURCE: 2000 buick lesabre stall after starting or after running for 30 minutes

I have a 1996 Lesabre. I had a similar problem that slowly got worse. I brought it to two different mechanics that did diagnostic checks and could only "suggest" what to replace to fix the problem. Their problem was that it wouldnt stall out while they had the mv. After replacing a bunch of sensors and the fuel pump/ filter, I solved the problem by replacing the Crank Sensor. Its located behind the lower crank pulley on the 3.8 lt motor. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: 94 Jeep Wrangler intermittently stalls when put in reverse, drive

Take the air inlet hose off where it enters the throttle body and take a look at the throttle plates. It is likely that they’re dirty and have a build-up of carbon deposits. That is the most common cause for stalling that we see in the shop for your vehicle. Sometimes all it takes is a good cleaning to cure the stalling problem. There is an idle speed setting on your Jeep, but to check and/or perform this service step requires the use of a computer scan tool for your vehicle. If the cleaning doesn’t help ask a repair facility to check and reset, if needed, the minimum idle speed on your Jeep.

Thnx.

SOURCE: 1988 chev celebrity stalls when comming to a stop sign.

no timing belt on the particular vehicle. but yes probably something minor, check fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator, MAF sensor and IAC motor. all these can cause intermitent stalls. The MAF is located somewhere between the air filter and the throttle body. it is a sensor that sometimes gets dirty with air particles and will affect fuel managment. the IAC motor is on the throttle body and if gets stuck with carbon will not be able to control idle. the fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail and if the vacuum line is filled with gas then the diaphram is bad. and the fuel pressure should be 35 to 50 PSI running.

Started having hard starts a shaking in reverse gear loosing power wanting to stall on hills it smooths out and will run fine for a little bit she acts like she's not getting enough gas?

My Buick did that and I changed the spark plugs and plug wires and it corrected the problem. Hope this works for you. I had a couple of wires that shorted out when you were under power going up a hill. If you change the wires yourself only take one wire off at a time and replace with a new one and you will not get upset because you get the wires in the wrong plugs. Its hard to correct once you take them all off at once.

Usually when a computer controlled vehicle stalls while driving it's related to the Crank Position Sensor.

1992 Buick Lesabre Idle Problem/ Bad gas mileage

If there is no "Check Engine" light try a bottle of good injector cleaner in your gas, or cleaning the throat of your throttle body with a good spray cleaner. If the "Check Engine" light comes on then put it on a code scanner and that will point you in the right direction.

1993 LeSabre- just started running rough mostly when put in reverse or drive. Not so much in park or neutral but a little, maybe cause of higher idle speed in park. Also runs a bit rough at slow speeds....

Sounds like the Torque Converter Lock-up Solenoid is failing. It will cause the car to run rough at slow speeds, and sometimes stall while idling in gear (at a stop sign for example)
To test this, locate the 2 or 3 wire connector on the left side of the transmission (looking at it from the left side of the car, it can be hard to find some times) Disconnect it. If the car runs and drives ok with it unplugged, the Lock Up Solenoid has gone bad. The solenoid itself is inside the valve body, inside the transmission (above the transmission pan)

My car 1980 corvette.....350 4brl starts right up and sounds great when a little gas is supplied....runs great when driven.....but when i come to a stop and restart it from park and put her into...

it could be dirt/bad gas in the system(filter.carb)even though you used stabilizer.it could also be the trans sticking a bit and needs to be driven more.

Our Buick Lesabre stalls unless we keep our foot on the gas. If we take the foot off it stalls.

I've been having the same problem on my Dodge Dakota. I went through a few things, Map sensor, oxygen sensor, but it ended up being the Idle Air Control Sensor or Valve. Check that out. I took mine off and cleaned it up inside with Brake Cleaner. Works alot better. Will eventually have to change it, but it's good for now. It doesn't stall practically at all anymore. Hope this helps a little.
