Could be a leak in one of your hoses under the hood, a water pump gasket, thermostat leak or bad heater core. Check under the hood for any signs of leaks. If antifreeze drip onto a hot engine block, you’ll smell it coming in through the vents. If you don’t find any leaks, I’d consider the heater core having an issue possibly.

Yes it's the heater core, It's a complicated diy job and unless you are an experienced mechanic you are going to need a good workshop manual for the job.

Best of luck.

SOURCE: ??? heater core

If you smell antifreeze, the problem would be the heater core.
Another indication is when you turn on the defroster and see a oily film on your windshield.
The heater core would have to be replaced.
In order to do this the whole dashboard would have to come out to get the heater box out.
In a dealer the process would take about 4 hours from qualified mechanics who have done this before.

SOURCE: when i run the heat or air cond. i smell water and windshield fogs up in the middle.

Sounds like your heater core is bad. Have someone check out the heating system and possibly replace heater core.. that should take care of the fog problem also by enabling you to use the defrost... Good Luck!

Yes you do need a heater core, if not replaced it will only get worse.

With a 2.0 engine, I am loosing coolant from the reservoir bottle and not inside the car by the driver foot has hot liquid

Heater core is probly starting to leak. Is there a sweet smell in the car? If so it is leaking anti freeze.

What causes smoke to come through the vents on a 2004 Jeep Liberty 5 speed manual 3.7L engine?

It will most likely be whisps of steam you see through the vents often accompanied with sweet smell. The heater core is usually the culprit and is leaking. Any coolant stains/wet marks on the passenger floor. Does the windshield fog up when on defrost. All signs of a leaky heater core

The plastic box that you put anti-freeze in; having to replace it with a full thing of anti freeze- weekly. No leak is visible. What is it?

No sign of leak means that your vehicle is likely burning it. An internal coolant leak will cause this. Bad gas mileage, white, sweet smelling exhaust will confirm.

This will likely destroy your motor and exhaust soon.

Heater immediately fogs all windows and there is a sweet odor in the cab of 2003 Buick Rendezvous, defroster works fine, but will not clear the windows after heat is put on

Sounds like a possible heater core failure(hole in it) the smell indicates to me the coolant(anti-freeze) is leaking into the passenger compartment.
Check the carpet in front of the front passenger seat for moisture, this would confirm heater core leak.
Good luck !

I can smell anti-freeze when my heater is on

inside the car?

you possibly have a heater core leak....is the pass. floor mat wet or damp....most times when a heater core is leaking, you can actually taste it in the air....it's actually sweet.

have it fixed, or bypass the core itself if it gets really bad.

hope this helps...

93 acura legend doesnt run hot for a few days after i add coolant, then it starts to run hot, its low on coolant, i smell coolant sometimes, but i never see it on the ground, no water in the oil, or steam...

Could be water pump yes. Look where the water pump shaft is and see right behind where the shaft enters the pump and see if you see a small hole on either side of the pump. See if there is any anti-freeze coming out of the that hole or anywhere around the water pump housing. If you see anti-freeze coming out then the pump is probably bad and needs to be changed. You could also be loosing it from the heater core although most of the time you will notice a substance on your inner side of windshield that when you try and clean it only smears. Looks like a film on the windshield inside of the car. You will also smell anti-freeze pretty strongly inside of the car especially when you use your heater.

O2 tahoe

Probably not. Residue on the passengers side rug is likely either from a leaky heater core or a blocked air conditioner evaporator drain. Is the residue slippery feeling? Does it have a sweet anti-freeze smell? If you blot it up with a white towel, does it have a color?

If it is colored the same color as your anti-freeze (green, orange or pink, depending on what type your tahoe uses) and has a sweet smell, my bet is the heater core is leaking. This would also cause fogging on the windshield when using the front defroster and a sweet smell from the air vents when the heat is turned on.

If it just seems like water and seems to get worse when you use your air conditioning, it is likely a blocked AC evaporator drain.

In any case, neither of these problems are likely to be related to an intake manifold job.

2004 Envoy Smell like Anti-freeze when turn on the air

probably is a small seep in the heater core. does not have to be leaking enough to find any inside the car to have a strong smell in there just a small seep that makes the heater core wet will do it.

I smell anti-freeze and when i get in the truck the windshield fogs.

Sticky film on inside of windshield and smell of antifreeze is a sign of heater core leak. Make sure hose connections at firewall are not the culprit before you take more drastic measures.
