It is possible that a component in the ignition system is affected by the heat in the engine compartment, and will resume functioning after it cools down. Coils an capacitors would do that in the old days. Now it's microchips and computers. Are there no OBD Codes.?
It could be a few things. Components that work properly for a certain time and then fail usually do so because they've overheated- a few common ones are ignition coils, ignition modules, fuel pumps, and more. I'd check the crankshaft position sensor as well. Stop by an auto parts store and have them do a diagnostic scan with their obd2 scanner- this usually narrows it down to a few things or tells you exactly what the problem is and they'll gladly check it out for free!
Thanks & have a great day! See the picture below!

Cat. converter probably pluged. Mine did same today. Mechanic who tow my car said likely cause. I can hear fuel pump running, recent change fuel filter will check fuel pressure. But I will try emissionwiz fit too.

I'd suggest the ignition control module, however I'd have a certified mechanic check it out just in case...

First thing I would do is replace the fuel filter. Could be clogging

If your luck it's going to be a $15.00 vacuum switch on the transfer case that takes about 15 min to replace, if it's the electronic solenoid to the transfer case then it's going to be cost a little more and take a little longer. If your try switching from 4WD to 2WD and hear the solenoid working by hearing the cluck's when it engages and disengage then it's going to be the vacuum switch on top of the transfer case on the drivers side. Auto Zone Sell's them for $15.00 and they will have the step by step instructions to replacing the switch. They will also have the transfer case solenoid too, if you don't hear the solenoid. Check the fuses, the fuse may have gone bad. Good luck and hope this helps.
