Jaguar xf 2.2 td 2012...can somebody please tell me we're the fuel inertial switch is(engine cut of & "how t o reset it") off the road for 3weeks now..

SOURCE: 93 ford tempo v-6 replaced fuel pump but will not start did reset

by chance the replacement pump you used was it a "CARTER" brand I had one of those quit the same day installed it! also be sure that the feed wire on pump in tank is connected properly! you can change them by taking out the back seat of car!! the seat has 2 clips good luck

If you recently replaced the battery, you may need to reset the idle air control valve setting. This is done by removing the NEGATIVE battery wire from the battery while the vehicle is HOT. Then you must wait several hours for the vehicle engine to become cold. Next, once could, reconnect the negative cable. Start the vehicle, place your foot on the brake and imediately put the vehicle in drive. Stay in that situation until the vehicle engine bcomes hot to normal temperature range. This will be known by hearing the radiator cooling fan turning on. You must NOT use the airconditioner during this cause it will be on during the event. Once accomlplished place in park and allow the engine to cool, engine off. This resets the engine computer to tell the idle/load speed control valve to add air and resuling in additional fuel to the engine under various torque loads.

have had a few of these in with carb faults but were 2 barrel type.basic checks first,is pcv valve hose under carb not split(runs to valve cover or oil cap on this model?).try driving without airfilter element for test,have had one in that looked clean but had a fine mist of oil on it that blocked and caused air starve and stall on power.Did both problems start at same time? or maybe you are chasing 2 probs.being a ute.I have had probs with rusting petrol tanks and blocked fuel filters

2002 Ford E-150 cranks no start.


ECONOLINE OR CLUB WAGON.?
99% OF ALL POSTS HERE IS OWNER FAILS TO SCAN THE PCM.
AND GOES BROKE GUESSING ENDLESSLY.

21 YEARS OLD ,TROUBLE IS 100% EXPECTED, EVEN 2 O PROBLEMS !!!
ALL FUSES GOOD. F.1.17 MUST BE GOOD OR PUMP IS DEAD
WARNING THIS FORD HAS AN INERTIAL FUEL CUT OFF SWITCH AND TRIPPED NO POWER GETS TO THE PUMP.

there are 50 causes of cranks but will not start or starts and stalls
and up to 20 tests and 20 tools used to find the cause.
a real shop has all those tools and skills. be hard to tell you them all in this tiny text box.
no engine told and is the topic here. 4.2,4.6,5.4l??????????????

the PCM controls fuel (EFI it is)
and the PCM will cut fuel if it wants to for many reasons. 5 or less.
what you failed to do is check fuel pressure to spec.
cranking fuel pressure.
if too low PSI or dead we check pump cranking voltage next. 2 man test.
it will be 11vdc at least cranking if low
we check voltage out of k4 fuel pump relay, if good there wires from here to pump are bad.
if bad here, all pins of K4 are checked for voltage, for sure F-1.17
for sure coil of K4 is hot 12vdc once side and zero on other side of k4 coil
if 12vdc missing there that is power loss from k163 pcm relay
if low side of k4 coil is stuck 12vdc that means the PCM is CUTTING FUEL ON PURPOSE. told below. (why not scan the PCM and see why it does?0
all tests are cranking tests, 2 mean tests. 1 at key , 2nd meter in hand
DMM set to volts.


causes, of dead fuel pressure, cranking, not just the pump,.
1: PCM FAILING FOR IMMO LAMP GLOWING AND IGNORED,
2: PCM SEES BAD SPARK (DETECTED SO) EVEN IF IT SEEMS OK.
3:PCM SEES CMP/CKP ERRORS. , NOT USING A SCAN TOOL HERE MEANS YOU WILL NEVER FIND OUT WHY IT CUT FUEL.
3: TPS SENSOR STUCK HIGH, IS WOT CUT FUEL MODE TO SUPER SECRET UNFLOOD MODE. TPS GROUND CUT , TOP CAUSE.
4: INERTIAL TRIP SWITCH


NO ENGINE TOLD E150
there are lots of other causes, above is fuel cut.
IMMO key failing
MAF DEAD.
EGR VALVE STUCK WIDE OPEN
ENGINE COMPRESSION TEST FAILING
MELTED CATS BLOCKING EXH ,PATH.


MY GUESS IS.
CHECK ALL FUSES
CHECK INERTIAL SWITCH
SCAN THE PCM


I BET FUEL PRESSURE IS ZERO, CRANKED

2012 Jaguar XF. Hi, where is the trunk control module please.

There is a lot going on back there. It appears to have a rear body control module. You need an auto-electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer to look for issues or computer network connectibility with the module.

My 2009 XF Jaguar just popped up a gear box error and is stuck in Drive

Switch off engine and it will reset as mine has done. Also my XF, got stuck in park and would not move with engine on. Remembered what I did with my first car ( Austin seven ruby) and got out and rocked the car front and back and the control knob just popped up. Am in Spain with my XF so am still worried about the sticking of the control knob problem.Have to get home at end of the month to UK and will wait until my return before contacting the [email protected]

No fuel on fuel rail at engine,already replaced fue pump,and relay

Some cars, like ford and Jaguar have an inertial fuel pump cut off. I don't think Saab has one, but relies on the alternator instead. The fuel pump relay is only energized for a few seconds, unless the alternator has output. So a bad alternator will cut out the fuel pump relay. This is the way all Bosch fuel injected cars work.

I HAVE 89 16 VALVE Turbo that wont start. Turns over< have spark at all cylinders, New fuel pumps and filter but no fuel in the fuel rail! Fuse is good, only thing left is the Relay??

You can tell how to put a jumper across the relay primary by looking at the diagram on the side of the relay. But your problem is probably the fuel pump safety cut off. It is different on different cars, and I don't know where it is on a Saab. But I can tell you some cars use an oil pressure switch for this, and you can tell because it will have more than 1 wire then. Some cars like VW use the alternator, and a bad alternator will do it. Others, like Jaguar, use an inertial switch. It can be behind a kick panel, in the engine compartment, or even in the trunk on Ford.
The idea is you want the fuel pump to cut off in an accident.

Fuel failure not getting fuel

Jaguar has an inertial sensing fuel pump cut off relay. It is supposed to be behind one of the panels next to your feet, in the front seat. It has a rod that sticks out, that has to be depressed back in. But sometimes there is also a complex procedure you have to do with the ignition switch as well. The dealer will give you the details for free if you call them.
