Feb 1, 2012 - My Car 58 S3, as of last night decided to start revving whilst on idle, I found a clip ... I can do or is it going to be a trip to audi for them to pull my pants down! ... Lots of members all over the UK have VCDS, have a look at the VCDS .....and as the engine warms up it'll auto-rev to 1000rpm every time i sit at idle.

well if it clicks when you try to turn it on locate the starter and tap it 3 times with a Flathead or a hammer then try to start it if it starts then dies your starters dead
first, check (or have checked) the battery-it may have a damaged cell and is no longer putting out 12.5+ volts, which is necessary for a modern engine's ecu-a digital voltage meter (less than $15) will tell you is this is your problem.
Sounds like your battery is tired and isn't holding charge as deeply as it did. As batteries get older they don't charge as deep into plates. Your reading of 12.6 is just surface reading. Have local parts store load test it -- they do it for free
Is the choke opening up all the way after it warms completly up ? and have you checked the fuel lines to the gas tank they might have got pinched in wreck.
