I have a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville that I can't get the windshield wipers to work on. We have changed out the windshield wiper motor, the control switch, and check the fuse.

Is there a relay that needs changed?

Just replacing parts isn't the way to find the problem , viewing wiring diagrams an testing the electrical circuit with a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter is . There are no relays involved . Do yourself a favor an take it to a qualified repair shop before you buy more parts that are not needed .

    Wiper / Washer System Components
The Wiper / Washer System consists of the following components:

    • Windshield wiper / washer switch

    • Windshield wiper system module / motor

    • Windshield washer fluid pump

    • Windshield washer fluid level switch

    • Instrument panel cluster (IPC)

    • ACC 15-amp fuse

    • WSW 30-amp fuse
    Wiper / Washer System Description
The windshield wiper motor module is part of the windshield wiper motor cover and controls the wiper motor operation. The windshield wiper motor is a 2 speed motor. Windshield wiper intermittent operation is a low speed wiper motor function with a variable delay interval between the wipe cycles. The intermittent interval is controlled through a series of resistors within the wiper / washer switch.

    Wiper / Washer System Operation
    Voltage is supplied by the:

    • ACCY fuse to the windshield wiper / washer switch and to the outside moisture sensor.

    • WSW fuse to the windshield system module / motor.

    Ground is applied from:

    • G103 to the windshield washer fluid level switch and the windshield washer fluid pump.

    • G106 to the windshield wiper system module.

Do you know how to test battery voltage circuits an ground circuits ?

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board. It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.

SOURCE: windshield wipers don't work.Fuse is good.

Hello Firerocker.
If your washer motor works there is power in the circuit and ground.
The wiper motor housing needs to be grounded.
If neither one works check for power on the green wire leading into the motor. If nothing there your switch may be bad.
If there is power to the green wire then check for power on the gray wire on low wiper speed and power on purple on high speed.
Here is a diagram if you need it.

Hope this gets your wipers going again.

Does the wiper motor have a module that you can replace or do you have to buy a new motor on a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville?

The only module that may be tied into the wiper motor is the body control module and failure rate on these is low. What are the symptoms? Wipers not working? Wipers won't park? Motor runs but wipers won't move?

How to replace a 99 se Bonneville windshield wiper motor

Windshield wiper motors are generally easy to replace. You need to remove the windshield wipers and take off the small grill panel above the hood and under the windshield. You should see the motor in there. It simply unbolts and unplug the electrical connector and replace it with a new one.

2002 pontiac grand prix. windshield wipers stop straight up on windshield when turned off.

If you have just changed the wiper arms, they may not have been reinstalled correctly.....hoever if it has just started happening,,,,,???

unfortunately this is a wiper motor fault....not the switch.......inside the motor is a PARK function.....this is where the wipers will stop after doing a swipe across the windscreen and the switch is turned off.........this park function is a section inside the motor that cannot be removed and replaced internally, and it would cost more than just a replacement wiper motor

Good luck and i hope this helps...

My windshield wipers will not turn off on 2002 Pontiac Bonneville. I have removed the fuse during sunny days but would like to get the problem fixed without costing an arm and a leg.

I am having the same issue with my 2003 bonneville. Changed out the control switch, no difference. Changed out wiper motor, still no difference. Seems that the problem may be on the wire for the delay. There is a constand 2.5 voltage when the switch is in the off position, cause the wipers to run intermitently. The wipers will run more often if you rev the car engine and increase the trace voltage. A wire is going to be added to bypass the bad wire in the harness. Crossing my fingers, hope this works.

Windshield wiper not moving.motor works.wiper was iced up,turned them on and they started to move then popped.wiper motor works and wipers seem to move a little.

open the hood and at the base of the wiper arm is a little balck cap, remove this cap and under it is a nut. this nut holds the wiper arm tight onto a spline. check to see if the nut has backed off or needs to be tightened. if not remove the nut and take off the wipers, the black cowel (at the bottom of the windshield) is held on with three plugs.(one in the middle and one on each end.) and one large plug below the passanger wiper blade. the wiper assembly and motor is under this cowel.
hope this helps
