2004 Chevy Malibu will run but not rev up

Will sit and idle just fine but when you push on the gas peddle I get no response. The gas peddle has been replaced and has brand new battery. Even tried to put the computer to sleep. Nothing has worked so far.

SOURCE: 2004 optima wont stay running after fillup

semms to be like some of the vapor lines coming from thank to engine might be flooding your engine,
but also locate the fuel pressure regulator at the engine compartment and unplud the vacium hose, if you see any fuel coming out from fuel pressure regulator, or if the vacium hose smeel like fuel, then the regulator is not good.

SOURCE: 2004 chevy malibu won't start up

I have an 04 Malibu and when I get hard starts when I'm in the car I just press the accelerator down about half way and it always starts right up, some times I have to hold the accelerator down a little after starting to stop it from stalling but it is rare.

SOURCE: My 2004 BMW 325 ci convertible is difficult to start.

If the fuel filter has been replaced, then maybe these are other reasons:

1. intake camshaft sensor (known to go bad on BMW E46s). ~$100 part.

2. fuel injectors (though I doubt they go bad that easily). ~$100/ piece. Your car has 6.

3. Ignition coils. ~$90 a piece. Your car has 6.

4. mass air flow sensor. Again, another expensive part. ~$300.

How to reset accelerator on a 2012 dodge avanger

Try this. If tps is positioned correctly and idle is correct.

You can recalibrate the throttle yourself to eliminate flat spots or pauses in its response curve.

This should work on most Fly by wire cars, they work on chevy and dodge for a fact

1-ignition to RUN but do not start
2-wait until all the dash warning lights go out (engine light should be the only one to remain on)
3-slowly depress the gas peddle to the floor (take at least 15 seconds to gradually push it to the floor, do not waver as you push)
4-slowly release gas peddle to full up (again, take at least 15 seconds to gradually let it back up, do not waver as you let up)
5-ignition to off
6-DO NOT START IMMEDIATELY! Allow to sit for up to 10 mins+, then start and check for difference in response and linearity.

I have 2006 chevy equinov 3.4l awd. When i push on the gas it will run fine for about half a mile then it starts sputtering and sounds like backfireing and jerking and stalls out.

What is year--make--model?
How long since a tune-up?
If you think it is fuel issue, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. There are some other tests you could try, but, too much liability, I can't be responsible for your safety.

Looses power under a load put in neutral give gas runs good

sound like fuel filter stopped up.if you have distributor type engine your idle speed could be too low and ignition timing off a little.

Fuel probelms

Try hitting the brake off and on to see if the rpm changes when you do that with the car in park. If it does, you may have a ruptured brake booster. A fluctuating rpm while your car is in park with the brake on indicates a vacuum loss. Other things may cause a vacuum leak including the air conditioner controls inside the vehicle. Other things that cause this may be cruise control or your Air Conditioners high idle solenoid.

I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu. Bogs down and stalls with acceleration. Check engine light flashes. Idols fine. Changed the MAP as it had a P0101 code along with the P0300. Changed the plugs 3 weeks ago and...

make sure you have ngk or ac delco iridium plugs installed. Also common problem on the 2.2L ecotec is the cat plugging. Easy check is to remove the front o2 sensor (very easy 22mm wrench) and start the car and rev it. If it revs freely now and does not bog the cat is plugged. They are covered fed. emissions warranty 8yr 80k, all gm dealers stock the cats for the 2.2 ecotec.
