Also check the constant control relay module (ccrm) -- that module controls the two fan speeds.

I have a 2000 Saturn sl 1.9L sohc. My cooling fan is not coming on. I replaced the temperature sending, which did read a temperature on my instrument cluster, before and after replacement. If I have the...

first, is/was the temp guage showing over heating? If so you should have checked/ replaced the fan temperature switch on the radiator ( or follow the fan wiring to it's location) depending on air temp, and driving conditions, the motor may not need the fan. If it's not, cover the rad with something{paper, plastic} until the guage begins to show overheat condition, then the fan should start. # DO NOT LET IT GET INTO THE RED ZONE! If you keep the reservoir closed, the radiator will **** up the coolant after warming/running, and a cool down.

Radiator fan doesnt switch off.

Many vehicles are set up to run the radiator(/ac condenser) fan whenever the air conditioning is on. Might this be the case here - is the air conditioning on when on the open road? Just a thought.

Cooling fan keeps running after turning the car off.

You can unplug the fan so it doesnt run the battery dead. Typically what happens with these vehicles is that a failing radiator fan burns out the solid state fan relay, this can also cause the relay to short and supply continuous voltage to the fan assembly. The relay is located below the passenger headlamp but you will need to remove the front bumper to access it.

Recently replaced radiator after finding cracks in original unit, after assembled engine coolant temperature would not comeup to operating range 185-195, replaced thermostate--no help-replace water...

Replacing all of thoes things will only make it run even cooler yet. Check the ignition timing and Try using Hotter Spark Plugs. Also try a higher octane of fuel. Turn engine off and make sure the clutch fan will turn Freely by hand, if the bearing is seased up that could cause an over cooling condition. Good Luck and have a happy new year. From Ernie @ RedDeer, Alberta,Canada. If these things do not help you could also try changing the engine coolant temperature Sensor.

When the vehicle is running the Fan will not stop running?

If it has an electric fan, check the fan control relay.
Unplug it and see if the fan quits.
Smack the relay lightly to moderatly with the plastic handle of a screw driver to see if you can unstick it.
Replace the relay if you discover it is sticking.
It will stick again if not replaced.
Also if this is not the cure, check and find out if the fan temp sensor is properly connected to the wiring and if there has been any modifications to the electrical connections there or an incorrect sensor installed.
This can be a source of trouble also.
**The air conditioning system will always turn on the fan when the pump is running. This will give the appearance of constant running.
