First thing I would do is pull a spark plug and have some turn it over to see if there’s spark. And then I’d make sure that fuel is making it up to the engine. Then you can start eliminating stuff. They need three things to run. Fuel spark and air.
I would have tried ur crank sensor before anything spray starting fluid in ur throttle body.. start it.... if it starts.. its a feul problem... if it just cranks... its a spark problem ....if feul problem check fuel pump fuse before assuming feul pump. Turn key on u should hear ur feul pump turn on ...if spark problem and u changed those things ur crank sensor
Check distributor. Remove cap and examine components. There should be a rotor and a triggering device on the shaft which tells the computer when to fire. Make sure the shaft turns by having someone to crank it while you watch. If it doesn't turn your timing chain or belt is broken
SOURCE: 98 dakota headlights flash off and on, light
this is caused by the bcm(body control module) which is the fuse block inside the vehicle. chryslers have a bad problem with wiring issues.
SOURCE: 98 dakota 2wh drive 3.9 replace rotor & cap
Check this 1998 Dodge Dakota 2WD 3.9 liter V-6 VIN "X"
Good luck.
SOURCE: engine misses. #8 and #3 cyl I think. Coil not
the module underneath or the computer could be bad or the wire is bad or plug.
SOURCE: My 1993 Dodge Dakota wont get fire from the coil been replaced with a new one
do you have power going to coil and are your leads crossed if not test the coil
With the engine running and the cylinder misfiring tap (key word is tap) the injector with a screwdriver a couple of times. If the misfire goes away replace the injector.
