you have to pop off the dash cover carefully using a forked clip/fastener tool and the assembly that is sold as a complete unit can be unplugged and unscrewed at that time..If your problem is the light burned out you will need the complete unit also..I can help with that if You contact me @ [email protected]
The air bag system checks itself every time the ignition is turned on. If the light stays on there is a problem with the system. The car needs to be pluged in to a scan tool to see what is wrong. There is a sensor under the radiator that is the most common. But its cheeper to check the codes than just start buying parts. Post the codes and we can help.
sounds like you have a faulty ignition switch i would have that checked out they do go bad sometimes and if I am not mistaken a lot of cadillacs have those problems with the ignition switches going out.
Either the systems are inadvertly switched off or the system(s) is faulty. Sometimes a low battery charge may switch these off to preserve power and produce similar messages.
