Starter solenoid is most likely the cause of your fuse to blow. Never put a higher amp fuse as the possibility of fire exists. Your electrical stystem has fuses of specific amp for a reason. To PROTECT YOUR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Check if you have power at the starter from the ignition key
Try give direct power to the starter, if still not starts, you have a bad starter

20 amp ignition fuse keeps blowing on my 2003 dodge stratus

SOunds like a closed short in the ignition system. The actual ignition could be at fault. The starter may be at fault. Pinched or exposed wiring touching the chassis or another live wire may be the cause. Check your manual to be sure the 20 amp fuse is the proper fuse for the ignition system. It may just be to low of an amp and may be a 25 to 60 amp fuse or more. Only use the recommended size of fuse as using too high a amperage in a fuse can cause bigger problems if the fuse does not blow in time. These fuses serve a purpose to save the electrical and electronic parts form unnecessary damage.

2002 chrysler sebring fuse keeps blowing for ignition wont start untill you replace fuse. what amp fuse should be in it. or what could be causeing it??

For your ignition you should use a 20-30 amp fuse. However, it sounds like you have a short somewhere. If you have a short it is not going to matter how big of a fuse you use it will keep blowing out. You best bet would be to take your car into the shop and tell them you have a short and to find and fix it. I must warn you though, shorts are very often times very hard to find, and take alot of time to find. Therefore most of the time they are expensive to fix. I know that probably was not what you wanted to here, But I hope it gives you a place to start out at. Hopefully this helps you out.

01 chrysler sebring was running good but now keeps blowing 20 amp fuse to starter and fuel system

something in the ignition circuit is drawing too much current.the starter draws 10 times that much current.check for shorted wires or a bad coil pack,or even the module,or a short in the distributor.get the wiring diagram.put a 25 watt bulb in the fuse instead,it will light and limit the current to 2 amps.disconnect items until the light goes out,and then check things on that power rail.
