My dad 96 grand voyager van. Says its in reverse (R) and won't start back up after stopping at a store .. Ran good up till he parked.what can the problem be and where can I locate the piece That need a fixed

-Possible crank sensor is bad. or low fuel pressure, broken fuel pump.

have the fault codes read
could be a crank/cam position sensor or an immobilizer problem

did you check the fluid in the transmissin it could be low or also it could need a new transmission filter i wouldnt try to drive it it anymore without checkin or changin it because it will burn it up

Your problem might be with the brake light switch. This switch is under the brake pedal, and when the pedal is pressed, it lets you shift your van out of park. This switch also activates the brake lights when you press the brake pedal. Try checking if your brake lights work. These switches are inexpensive, and very easy to replace.

poss bad batt, cell also fuel injected so pushing gas or not no matter.

sounds like your van is running rich have the have your van checked out by a good mechanic shop

It is probably the ignition module but I would bring the van to an auto zone or advanced auto parts store to have them check for trouble codes these codes if present will give you a hint what is going wrong howevere if I had to figure the problem out without the codes I would say it is either an ignition module, O2 sensor or the ignition wires could be leaking voltage as they heat up causing them to fail to deliver adequate voltage for spark plug operation.

You have a shorted engine harness, this is not common but it does happen, heat and engine movement cause damage to the harness, this is most common on hi miler cars and vans, the only way to fix it is to start by looking anywhere the harness rubs, that is where the damage occurs.

where is the ECM on a 96 voyager van? we need to replace it. thanks.
