If it is manual transmission, turn the key on, hold clutch down, place in 1st gear, have someone push and then let go of the clutch. Be ready to push the clutch back in so the car doesnt cut off.

It looks like you have the "Smart Key" (a small rectangular box) that does not look like a traditional key.
What you also have is a dead battery inside the Smart Key.
Look closely at the box; there is a little button on the side. Press it. This will release a small hidden key. After you remove the small key, use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry the case of the box open at the slot provided. Take the unit to a store that sells miniature batteries, and have it replaced. You will NOT have to reprogram it after the battery is changed. The life span of the miniature batteries is roughly 20 months, less if exposed to RFI, like sitting on a TV, a monitor, or other electrical device. The Smart key TRANSMITS all of the time, even when you do not press the buttons. This is why the battery only lasts 18-20 months. Let me know if this fixes your issue..

its not the battery its still cranking isnt it! Probably needs an ecm. By the way it will say Toyota right on it so the toyota version has the same dang problem!!!!

try proper jump leads ,not cheap chinese ones ,then start slave car and leave running for 10 mins before trying it ,if it still will not start call dealer because immobilisor has cut in which is a dealer only job because of encrypted software

if you dont have the keypad to shut the alarm off, or put the key in the door first and unlock the car, then you are going to have to get the alarm disconnected

Go to Ebay, search for the part you need and rough price. Ebay charges them 8-9% so the part should be cheaper elsewhere.
Then try contacting them direct to see if they fit the part as well.
Other options are alibaba.com or aliexpress.com. If you speak chinese Taobao IS the cheapest if you can wait 30 days.

If the remote s faulty then key fob will not get programmed.

Insert the key in ignition. Turn the key to on position, and cycle the key three times off-on-off-on-off-on. Then with the key fob remote select your remote and then try to operate the vehicle with remote.

These are just the basic procedure, but sometimes it will not help.

On that case dealer is the only option.

Try with brand new key fob battery and see.If that helps.
Otherwise May be keyfob needs to be reprogrammed.

X type 2003 my key will not work when using the push buttons tried changing battery but nothing happens only way is manualy then I have to get in the car and turn engine on to disarm the alarm
1.)I would recommended that you ensure all key fobs are fitted with new batteries. ( Click here to see battery replacement guide).
2.)Get in the car and close the drivers side door.
3.)Put the key into the ignition and turn to position I.
4.)Wait 5 seconds
5.)Turn the key quickly to position II then back to I four times.
6.)You should hear a single chime.
7.)Remove the Key
8.)For each Keyfob in rapid succesion. Press any single button on the keyfob you wish to pair, you should hear a chime as each Keyfob is paired with the security system. After the chime do the next Keyfob.
9.)Check operation of each Keyfob.

Iv'e replaed many keyfob batterie's and the idea is that the ignition coil energizes the secondary smaller coil within the keyfob via indictive current. This allows the car to start in an emergency but your keyfob battery os compleatly depleated. You can go to a local batteries plus bulbs and they will change your battery out and it shuld be as good as new. Or you can go to your car dealer your choice. At batteries plus it's around $10 to change the battery out ad often times they can test it at their shop too. So grab a new battery or have one of those companies help you out.
