Hi there after I disconnect the battery on my 2004 Renault espace the radio stop working any ideas please, thanks

Some radios lose the memory when battery power is disconnected so you might have to reset the radio like if you are installing a new one

Why did my radio stopped working?

double check all your connections. you can always bench test the radio with a car battery and any speaker. find your 2 hot wires and 1 ground. (1 hot wire is for memory, but with some radios it will need power also to bench check) make sure all your radio fuses are good, run a set to the speaker, then run the wires to the battery. if the radio powers up, the problem isn't the deck. this has worked for me several times.

you can skip connecting the speaker, but I prefer to make sure everything works before I reinstall.

Radio quit working

Sounds like someone shorted the wires...you need to look into the entire butcher job and see what wires were touched. Disconnect everything the butcher did and then see if your battery is still drainning power.

All radio, cd tape function buttons on 98 explorer stopped working

just removing ur radio would cause this (ive had mine out a dozen times) make sure all plugs and the antenna is plugged in snug, also you can try another compatible radio just to make sure from another ford (the two square connector style is refered to as the "world" plug)

When i turn off the pick up the theft light is blibking. This is normal or have a problem?

Perfectly normal...all FoMoCo vehicles do it.

Please, please please read what your owners manual says about the Theft System.
One thing it should tell you and may not is: DO NOT disconnect the battery until you have disarmed the Theft System. Otherwise, the radio and even the entire vehicle may stop working, which will require a tow to your ford dealer to get you going again.

How to remove the factory installed radio?

Hello,

To remove the radio of your car, follow the process below:
  • Turn the vehicle off and disconnect the negative battery terminal cable from the car battery before working on the radio.
  • Take off the dash trim area around the car radio. You may need to use the flat head screwdriver to carefully pry the paneling and trim off. Some cars use plastic clips or screws to hold the dash trim in place. Locate any clips or screws and remove them.
  • Use the Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew each of the screws holding the car radio in place. Most car radios are held in place by four screws, one on each corner. After removing each screw, carefully slide out the entire car radio.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness, main power supply and ground wire from the back of the radio. You may also need to disconnect any antenna connections or speaker connections.
Take care and good luck

First I would try to disconnect the negative cable and then reconnect the cable. See if it resets.
