MY CHEVROLET CRUIZE 1.6GL PROBLEM WITH THE BOOT NOT OPPENNING BACK LIGHTS NOT LIGHTING

Predicated that the light switch that controls your dashboard back lighting was not set to its dimmest setting, and the fact that the sentinel did not automatically turn on your head lights, indicates a problem in the switch that controls the headlights, interior lighting, and dash lights.
I would however check all my fuses before going out and buying a new switch assembly; I would also check the photo sensor as well.

Check the fuse box before you change anything, after that call a dealer or auto electrician/ knowledgeable neighbour.. Do you have a repair manual? Is there any reason the wiring harness has been hit, check the boot and bonnet connections, brake lights and reverse come through the side of the boot area. Has something pulled the harness?

i had the same prob i just wedged the button down with a piece of paper quick fix withou replacing the switch

The adjustment of the brake light switch or it could be bad. the brake lights can work fine and the part of the switch that works the cruise doesn't The swiches that control it from the steering wheel can losse connection in a part called the clock spring. Vacume connections can effect the cruise but yours is likly cables less therefore doesn't work the cruize.

it is done completly by electric connection..? on a 92 pick up i belive it still has a speedo cable located at the tail of the tranny.. either the gear is bad or the cable is broken ..if it has cruize control there are two cables one tranny to cruize box and then cruize box to speedo

Look for a lighting module under the dash most likely near the steering column.

check vackum lines that come out of fire wall to intake manafold and throtel body/check fuse forlights and cruize.

try checking the connections in the wiring harness to the lights you can also check the wires or it could be a bad ground check those one may be the problem

be sure the brake lights are working this may be a problem with the brake light switch, also be sure to check all fuses in car and under hood please rate -jeff

sounds like you have a short, check around brake pedal for bare or loose wires on switch, also check rear of blazer, below bumper on the frame and check the ground wires, should be two
