I had a engine check light and tcs light on on my 2000 honda odyssey, i check the code p0401 which is EGR and i replace it, the light went out for two days and the tcs and engine check light come back on again,if anyone will help? thank!
I had the same code/symptoms a few weeks ago. Dealer did a nice job checking through all the details. Replaced the egr too, but no improvement. Finally found one cylinder not firing correctly (not the same pressure as the other cylinders.) Dealer did a value clean/adjustment, for about $250, and the problem has been gone for about a month now. We are also getting about 15% better mileage.
Hope this helps.
Those codes arent meant to tell you what to replace they only point you to area that needs correcting.. the egr valve might have been fine but the lines from exhaust manifold are clogged from coked oil, and needed to be cleaned also, or a power or signal issue from pcm..

i took my EGR out again and replace a new one in,i erase the code and the engine check light didn't come back on since,i guess may be the one i put in was defected. Thank everyone!
