1999 Chrysler Town and Country

The remote access key stopped working. I replaced the batteries - still nothing. Van is possessed! Alarm goes off. Locks open and close by themselves (when no key is in ignition). The passenger seat even adjusted by itself with no buttons being pushed. Is there a fuse that needs replaced - or a master switch to turn it off?

Have you you tried just re-programming all of your remotes? I just added a "new" (from Ebay) remote and when re-programming, had to do them all. Here's how... 1. Using a functional key fob transmitter, unlock the vehicle and disarm the Vehicle Theft Security System. 2. Insert ignition key into the ignition switch. 3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN position without starting engine. 4. Using a functional key fob transmitter, press and hold the UNLOCK button for a minimum four seconds (maximum ten seconds) 5. While holding UNLOCK button, and before ten seconds passes, press and release the PANIC button. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module is set to receive the new Vehicle Access Code(s) 6. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons on the transmitter at the same time. Then press any one of the buttons. The BCM will sound an abbreviated chime to acknowledge that the programming of the transmitter has been completed and was successful. 7. Repeat step 6 for all transmitters that will be used with this vehicle (up to 4 total) 8. Programming mode will last for 30 seconds. To get out of programming mode sooner, turn the ignition OFF. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module will no longer accept additional Vehicle Access Code(s) 9. When Vehicle Access Code(s) programming is complete, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and verify RKE system operation using each key fob

Had the same problem with my van. Battery was not strong enough to power the body control module and fuse for door locks was not making contact. cleaned the fuse contacts and problem stopped. Much cheaper than a new Body control module.

I cannot disarm my alarm system so I cannot start my van what can be the problem?

It sounds like your transmitter on your remote is not functioning. You may just need to replace the battery in your remote! Some times unlocking the doors w/your keys will disarms the alarm system. Thats why i had to do when i lost my remote. See if that helps!

My car alarm will not reset and the issue with problems below

If you (hopefully) have the key fob (keyless entry remote), try closing the doors, then lock and unlock using the keyless entry. This should reset the security so the vehicle will start.

I have a van and wont start

If it is an aftermarket alarm try this. Disconnect the battery. Put the ignition to run, reconnect the battery, and it should start. After it is running, finding the valet switch. Usually a small black button on the driver side panels. Push it and the alarm should sit in valet.
