SOURCE: headlights wont come on, but parking lights work...i dont get it

Was sent in by another poster, just posting his results which fixed mine. Problem was relay $50.00 at GM only.

Check the relay module. 45 or 46. on the engine relay block. you can swap the two they are the same part number, then you will know. Dont start the engine, just check the lights. If it works replace the relay module. You may have to order the part from the parts store. Or go to the dealer to get it.

SOURCE: 2004 mazda 3 will not get out of park? used

The gearbox probably has electronis shift lock. It will be controlled by the brake lamp switch.Check the fuse for the brake lamps/horn if that is ok, check that the connector has not fallen off the switch at the brake pedal.
Hope this helps

Mazda 3 2004 brake light won't come on, turn and hazard work, small trunk light works

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. If your bulb and fuse are good, you probably need to change the brake switch. It is located right above the brake pedal. It is a round looking cylinder. It controls the brake lights. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and thanks for using FixYa.

Mazda 3 reverse light problems

Check the bulbs if fuse not gone, otherwise it is the reverse switch sensor on the gearbox, not an expensive part but not easy to replace by your own
